Our mission is to provide an open community and unique environment where anyone interested in learning more about Adobe Photoshop can share their experience and knowledge, post their work for review and critique by their peers, and learn new techniques while developing the skills that allow each individual to realize their own unique artistic vision. We do not limit this forum to any style of work, and we strongly encourage people of all levels and interests to participate.

By suggesting it in the 'Community Improvement Ideas' forum and seeing how that goes. The success of suggestions made there seem to depend (at least in part) on the popularity of the idea, so campaigning probably wouldn't hurt. Before you go ahead and post, though, do an archive search in that forum to see when it was suggested before (I know it has been) and why it was turned down (presence of the 2D gallery was key, I think). You'll need to be able to show that the same objections don't apply in order to make your case. Good luck :-)
Grim, you may want to point out in your query regarding a PS Gallery, is the "overcrowding" in the 2D Gallery with over 700 post (in the last 15 days...) and that a PS specific gallery could allow for better critiquing of work.
I'm sure some of the "arguments" will be "How do we determine if the image should be posted there or in the 2D Gallery???", if we can come up with some kind of criteria to meet, and allow the 3D renders with PS postwork to continue to post to the "Mixed Medium" and "2D" galleries along with the "paint" and "brush" style images.
A really good example of a Photoshop Gallery is on the NAPP website (unfortunately you have to be a member to check it out...) But we may be able to determine some type of guideline for uploading (if we get the gallery)
i'll see what i can do from this side...

I'd like to say once again that a PS specific gallery is unwarranted in my opinion. There isn't any over crowding, especially compared to other galleries. At the moment, us non 3D users are a big cohesive happy family. Splitting it apart would be like splitting worldbuilder, terragen, mojoworld and Vue D'Esprit apart. There isn't a humoungous set of users for each program like there is for Bryce, and I always thought in terms of galleries, Terrain Generation would be better. You needn't know what program the work was done in to critique it, they are all similar in many ways, and the galleries would probably get more viewers if they were put together. If you split up photoshop and separate it from the rest, there wont be any reason for not making a PSP, Freehand, Illustrator, GIMP, etc galleries, and if that happened, you'll lose viewership, gauranteed. you will still have the same useless "Cool stuff" comments, you'll just get less of them. This is why we have indiividual forums, for proper discussion and critiquing of work, and its also program specific (to a large degree). I dont see any need for a specific gallery. If anytthing, you'll just get postworked Posertits in there anyways.
Well let's start posting here in the forum. Granted, we are all at different levels of "expertise" but we can all learn from each other.
ry, you make a good point, i just hate getting "buried" in the 2D gallery that i've stopped posting altogether...
I know there are some really talented Photoshop users here and i think they deserve to have their work seen.
Maybe i can make a "backroom" gallery in the "Resource Center"
:)

I'm not so keen on posting too many images in the forum. It's murder for all the people on dial-up, and here in the UK we pay phone-bill for all the time we're online. Practically speaking, this forum would begin to cost too much to visit. I'm all for a back-room gallery as a 'test the water' option. If it fills quickly and continues to be well used, then it makes the case for a PS gallery in the main body of the site. I can't see that the PTB would go for a PS gallery at the moment; even the regular forum users are split on the subject and the same request has been turned down before. Personally, I'm happy using the 2D gallery so I've no big hankering for a dedicated PS one. I would, however, be very much in favour of a Critique Forum on the site - a kind of beefed up version of the WIP Gallery, for all styles and apps. .02
Pro PS gallery supporters are not asking that the 2d gallery be split up and categorized into individual applications. We ask that a giant like PS be given the respect it and its users deserve rather than being shoveled into a hole and filled over each time we upload.
Yes, I do sense a problem with the criteria guidelines. Some thought would need to go into that.
Fictitious says:
"Splitting it apart would be like splitting worldbuilder, terragen, mojoworld and Vue D'Esprit apart" Well correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they already have their own merry little galleries? If it's good enough for them......
I did a search, and here's wut i came up with: http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=565667 here's a step in the right direction, fractals in one gallery, programs in another.... u get the idea... http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=532547 exactly wut we want... no replies, tho http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=287090 wow these r old.... ok, these are all completly useless. There doesnt seem to hav been any requests for almost exactly a year, tho. I think it's time to ask again.

Okay, now I really do want a PS gallery. How do we get one?
