Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 11:02 am)
I suspect that Zygote is a little nervous about the implications of a very anatomically correct female. One can argue that the external genitalia of the male are important to the overall artistic form (what would the David be if it were done like a Ken doll?) but "internal" genitalia suggest uses beyond conventional art....I think very few if any of the zygote men are in fact anatomically correct and to my knowledge none of their females have been. Having said that, the immediate move among the poser community to create morphs to correct the situation suggests that you are not alone in your disappointment. The least that Zygote could have done, in my opinion, would be to have configured the hip area with adequate polygons/vertices that the morphs would be easy to make and make correctly. Then their hands would be "clean" and we dirty minded individuals could get on with our business. Scarab <-likes anatomically correct and politically incorrect wimmen.....
You know I never did notice that the females have never been anatomically correct as far as genetalia go. Then I assume all the images with Poser women who have genetalia are either there by morphs or sheer textures? I've only used my Poser twice and just noticed it today while surfing Zygote. That is very interesting , thanks for the info Scarab. One last thing , it isn't disappointment on my part just something I was confused about. Late!
Just another lamer question about the subject... What would go wrong if one added extra vertices on the hip...understand that the texturemapping would have to be redone as one had actually created a completely new model. But why not...will there also be other problems with joints and so on, (even if not adding new vertices at the intersections between different bodyparts)? Of course public morphs would not work on those remade bodyparts, but I guess i could live with that.
Zygote did discuss including genetalia on the Victoria figure, despite never having included it on any other female Poser figures. (Some of our Poser males didn't have genetalia either, just for the record, though market feedback later showed that to be a bad decision.) As you know, however, we ultimately decided against including genetalia on Vicki. As you may or may not know, Zygote has many customers that are as paranoid about Poser's ability to create porn as many members of this community are concerned about the ability to create realistic genetalia and erotic poses within Poser. (For example, Poser and Zygote products are growing in popularity for use in educational fields, including high school couses.) If someone has to create these morphs themselves, or download them from somewhere else (as you probably know is possible), then Zygote products are still "approvable" for our more conservative clients. However, we did try to do what Scarab suggested above, although maybe it wasn't enough for him to notice. :) (Scarab wrote: "... to have configured the hip area with adequate polygons/vertices that the morphs would be easy to make and make correctly.") Zygote occasionally does custom characters, morphs, animation, etc. for Poser, and in the past we have needed to show Posette giving birth. Obviously we realized the inadequacies of the standard Poser figures for such a project. As a result, if you compare the geometry of Posette with Victoria, you will see that Zygote did, indeed, add extra vertices to Vicki's mons/vulva region, obviously cut specifically to allow for morphs in that area. I hope that this answers some questions. Thanks for the feedback. -Chad Smith Zygote Media
You're right, Scarab. Zygote definitely has to keep all of the creators here in the Poser community (meaning morphers, model-builders, map-makers, etc, etc) firmly in mind when creating our products. You all do such great work. (I was just looking at James' work on the Zygote pie freebie, which easily quadruples its usefulness.) I'm sorry if my post about you not noticing the extra crotch resolution sounded sarcastic, Scarab. (I didn't mean it to.) PS- Even if you don't have the software/experience to create morphs for Poser, I have to admit that I always enjoy reading your posts. You've got to have one of the most active imaginations and fun senses of humor in this entire community, and have made me laugh out loud more than once. Thanks for your input. -Chad Smith Zygote Media
Thank you for the compliments, and no...I didnt take it as sarcasm at all. I wish I could make morphs and props and all that and I am sure one day I will.....once I decide on the software and get a website to host some stuff. Mostly I am embroiled in some charity work commitments which take up all except enough time to review everyone else's daily posts and throw together a few "quickie" pics to share....by the way, you might like to see what I did with Victoria recently to produce (I think a reasonable) Ray Charles. It's in the gallery if you are interested. Scarab <-blushing down to his ingrown toenails from a bit of flattery.....
Where can can I find a program that is not so prudish about genitalia in their models? I am new to the game..my poser just came today. Was dissapointed to see the lack of creative aspects in the Poser as regards to anatomical "creativity" as it were. I am glad I came here today as I almost bought "Vicki" and would have again became dissapointed
Something that nobody seems to have thought of in this whole female genitalia thing is the fact that most women have hair down there anyway, and if you put in genitalia what is going to take the texture map with the hair? Then put a prop with transmapped hair over the area? Then you can't see it anyway- this is sort of getting silly. Gee, I've had figure drawing classes with nude women models, all you see is the hair, honest! In other words, Zygote did it right, IMHO.

Why doesn't Zygote offer Victoria with genitalia? I would think since it's an advanced model that they would want her to be anatomically correct. Is this a morph or what? I couldn't find any clues as to why they would offer her like that , seemingly incomplete. I'm sooo close to buying her though that maybe this won't even come into play but thought I would ask anyways.
