Here is my entry. First time ever entering a monthly challenge, so I hope you like it. Absolutely everything modeled in Bryce5 by me. The only thing I did to enhance the image was to brighten it a bit with photoshop. It took me more than 48 hours to render. Thanks for viewing!!! brholte

This is an awsome job! Very nice! Knowing that everything was made in bryce makes it even better.

I know this sounds like a very simplistic question, but I am curious to know how. How did you get the smoothed corners on the couch objects?

Great render!

Love it. I've already commented it in the gallery, so I won't repeat myself here. :) Stefano

Great job looks like the front range in Colorado.

Ornlu- I got the rounded corners by grouping negative symmetrical lattices with my positive cube. here is the wire frame.

It DOES look like the front range...which I can look at from my back deck. :) I think I would change one thing...the texture on the ceiling. I wonder what it would look like textured similar to the walls...just a matter of personal taste I suppose but I love the image. This is great work!!

brholte ( ) posted Fri, 21 February 2003 at 11:34 AM

heh, I tried the same texture, and it looked too bland. Actually, This is modeled after an actuall room in my house, and that is what the ceiling looks like. I'll post a photo of this room when I get a hold of my bro's digital camera.

Claymor ( ) posted Fri, 21 February 2003 at 11:39 AM

Ya know, I thought that might have been the case but tossed it out there anyway. Can hardly wait for the photo, the comparison would be really cool.

Pretty good! I like that wood texture you used on the cieling.

You know, This is great work an all, considering everybody does a 'room' eventually because they're a great challenge and you get to learn so much about bryce. This has style, imagination and took a great deal of work. And for that I congratulate you, however....could you tell us how this fits into the February Challenge parameters? I may have missed something......... The Bryster

TheBryster- After reading the February Bryce challenge, I came to the conclusion that the theme was to show that Bryce was capable of doing what most other programs are meant to do. And modeling certain things (such as furniture) wasn't one of them. That is why I chose this image. In my opinion, Bryce is my program of choice for making landscapes. I chose this image because I believe that with enough patience, Bryce is capable of much more than that(such as modeling furniture). You have to understand that I am not ver knowledgable concerning 3Dgraphics and this is just a hobby of mine. So to answer your question, how does this fit into the February challenge?, I have done my best with what I know, to show what Bryce is capable of. I hope this is the answere you were looking for. brholte

Brholte: Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I'm sure many of us here would agree with you. Regards The Bryster
