Ok, I added things other than spheres to the pic now. The cards I Scanned in, Looking back I should have given them more bump, hinesight is always 20:20. Played with some DOF, didn't get it right. My first attempt at using it.. a 6 hour render so didn't really feel like re rendering. 256 ray sampling /Radiosity faked lighting /true ambiance /blurred reflections. Comments and suggestions welcomed. the original pics are here: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=340081&Start=1&Artist=Ornlu&ByArtist=Yes

Can you make a little tutorial on this issue? 6 hours rendertime seems a lot more efficient than what I get. I'm interested in seeing what techniques you use.

And where did you get the model of the Statue? I've seen it several times in several images, but I can't seem to find it. (might be because I don't know for wich names I should search.)

Not sure where I got the model. I will do a tutorial when I get it perfect. The render time might be due to my computer. Athlon 2000+xp, Nforce2 delux mobo w/512 mb of ddr400, Ultra AtA 100 40 gig 7200 rpm hd, Geforce 2 TI 64 mb. Just to compare, might be the difference. Otherwise, I don't know.

Ok, I may be dense, but I CAN'T figure out how to do dof in photoshop with a distance mask. Is there any COMPLETE tutorial with pics of every step. I have tried so many times and can't figure it out.

this statue is a free model from the "DE ESPONA MODELS ENCICLOPEDIA". You can download it in LWO, 3DS and MAX format at Turbosquid :

(search for "De Espona Athene Sculpture")

I hate it when people take photographs and try to pass them off as Bryce renders! :^) Amazing, Ornlu. I believe this would fool just about anyone. Great render.

Something from wings3d.

Bryce's renderer is actually decent once you get used to it. Just have to mess with all its nooks and crannies.

F14, Dunno why I'm posting these, were just some test renders for a lighting rig. 20 minute renders appr.

It's also available on 3dup.com among De Espona models. There's also a lateen-rigged sailship of high quality there. Without the wheel, unfortunately. Also some WWII models, like a panzer or a FockeWulf.
