Subject: Experts Agree, Most Poser images are shite.

Well at the risk of starting a flame war...I've been going through the Poser gallery, quite far back actually. Frankly 99% of everything there sucks. It seems that people crank out useless crap just because they can. Oh yea, there are some hi points with a few artists, left un-named. But most of it is pre-pubicent twaddle. I don't call it art. I don't even call it an attempt at art. I call it clicking 3 buttons and spending money on models to pose with blank stares, huge boobs and putting a sword in her hand then getting indignant when someone like me says that its digital masterbation. Try something differnt for christs sake. This fluff is why real artists who actually TRY to make digital work laugh at this site.

You are entitled to your opinion. It would however carry more weight if you refrained from blasphemy and foul language.

I just wanted to mention, before this thread gets locked, that people have to start somewhere, and the stuff in the gallery is a start. You can't expect their first efforts to be masterpieces. But there are many levels of sneering, self-righteous snobs. At the top are probably the classically trained oil-painters who scorn mere water-colorists or acrylic users, who in turn look down on guys who just do pencil/ink drawings, who then have contempt for people using Photoshop to do serious drawings, then those guys look down on people who draw simple cartoons, and the cartoonists are snobs when it comes to 3D-generated cartoons or any kind of 3D-generated art, but the people using more expensive 3D software have nothing but contempt for Poser users. So why can't we all just get along and leave all that negativism behind?

Your lame attempts at flame threads are boring.

I just have this to say:

'Those who can, do. Those who can't, criticize.'

I always thought of art as an expression, so to each his own. I also think that anyone, as said above, has to start somewhere, and maybe the first images aren't masterpieces, but they are art! At least thats the way I fel, so I say bravo to all who attempt to express themselves, using poser, photograpy, oils or whatever!

So, who had the better reply, PhilC or Nance? I do know that I had to wipe snot off my monitor! I also think Minuteman is being a bit "premature", since his gallery fails to show any "talent".

Oh PLEASE, no, I didn't mean to start a FLAME WAR. Golly heck. No, Im stating an opinion. Most Poser stuff is shite, tripe what have you. NO PHIL, I don't have a gallery, I cant draw. Nor do I attempt to, so there. And I'll state my opinion any way I GodDamn-well care to, thanks. If God is offended, He/She will take care of it. Not you. Bite me bobo. People can post useless images of titanic titted, split beaver babes or beefcake boys with their shwinkie hanging out for no reason apart of 'It's Art' But I can't state an tirade opinion in a fashion that I choose that doesn't use f**k like it's an adverb? Bah. Enjoy your site.

You know, language is also a medium for art. "Bite me, bobo." "... split beaver babes..." "...their shwinkie hanging out..." Obviously, Minuteman's artistry in the medium of language leaves something to be desired by the literary critic. The rather extreme irony of art criticism coming from someone whose sole contribution to the forum is a rather juvenile attempt to start an argument by insulting as many people as possible rather takes me aback. I mean, to see snobbery attempted by someone who is in the process of displaying his own "shwinkie" for all to see has got to be a new level in chutzpah. Minuteman... I salute you. With my shwinkie.
