Subject: Digital Comics Proposal

_dodger ( ) posted Wed, 26 February 2003 at 3:42 PM · edited Sun, 05 January 2025 at 8:05 PM

Okay, people who like making digital comics, listen up! I have a proposal. I want to make a comic. Not a typical Poser comic, though. I want to make a drawn comic using Poser. I haven't seen this done yet (it may have been but I haven't seen it). So what I need is a 'penciller' - sort of. Someone who is REALLY good at using Poser to make digita comics, can make the people look different, and doesn't leave everyone liiking like Mike and Vicki with different hair. I have a story. I'd also like a scripter who can translate the story into a script and written storyboard outline fothe 'Poser penciller' I will ink, colour, and letter it. Look at my gallery to see the inked Poser stuff I've done (like Rune and Spyke). email me at dodger@dodger.org to let me know if you are interested and send a sample. Also to let me send a nondisclosure form for you to sign. I think the story idea can be made big.

BTW, I will also take care of any custom modelling necesary and thus you'll prolly get stuff I make and don't release to anyone else!

I will also build the website for it and stuff, complete with subscription services.

...bonjour i don't think you need somebody to make character for your comic's...YOU ARE REALLY GOOD...(i hope, later,i am able to make render like you do...) why looking for something that YOU HAVE IN YOU...??? i am nobody...but every day...i try to do better and better... 3D is a wonderful world of dream and fantasy...and i think that you are a MASTER... friendly newherve (sorry for my bad english...!!!)

_dodger ( ) posted Thu, 27 February 2003 at 4:58 AM

No worries about the English. I'm looking for a team to work together with me on the areas in which I'm either a) less skilled or b) less patient. Scripting is an area I'm not terribly skilled, while setting up 6-10 poser shots per page for 20 pages is an area I'm less patient, and other people are faster and more patient at it. I don't need anyone to make characters or do any modelling, nor to do the inking or write the story (only turn it into a script/storyboard layout). Thanks for the compliment! -- Dodger

To compare to moviemaking, basically I am fine being the propmaster, makeup artist, producer, director, conceptual artist, and editor, I'm lust looking for some help from a good cameraman and a good playwright.

Just to note -- I'm not looking for an actual penciller -- I was just using the term to explain that the project will be inked based on poser renders. Since the inker usually works over the penciller's work, I'm calling the spot a 'digital penciller' effectively.
