They come by sea to the remote place called Interface, temple to the god Bryce. There the monks of Bryce practice their arcane rituals; anti-aliasing, DOF, and most importantly chanting while the white line of render is dragged across the pool of view. The slower this is done, the better and the more it pleases the god Bryce. Novices may take several hours to bring the render line across. The more experienced often take days. In the end Bryce rewards them all with colorful objects. Bright things to lighten up their otherwise dark and somber world.

AH! Someone else with 'The Hand of God'. Very well done but it looks a bit 'grainy'.... The Bryster

I think all my monks are on vacation right now... I can't seem to get anything going. I like the light from the clouds. Lin

I like this one. Great idea

I like the grain...it is expected since you used blurry reflections. It adds a still feeling to the image. Excellent concept! i especially love the "render pool."

Don't know about the deity, but I'm certainly pleased. Seams like a complicated interface though... Wonderful idea.

Here is a premium render with DOF lens radius 0.01. Unfortunately I forgot Feb only had 28 days! It finished this afternoon. Too late for the challenge:(
