If you buy V3 there is a "UVs" file available on the product page which will allow you to make a version of the figure, using the free UVMapper available here, which takes old-Victoria textures. Faces and body shapes, however, cannot be transferred as the two figures have different morphs, so you will get only partial benefit from character packs. Converting clothing is also awkward: the V3 pack includes a figure which can use old-V products and V3 faces but no body morphs.
I think the question is, how do you feel about the V2 face? It is significently different than V3 and the morphs for V2 will not work on V3. If you find the V3 face with all it's morphs enough for you, than buy Vicki 3 only -- with, I would suggest, at least the package of head morphs. If, however, the stylized face of Vicki 2 appeals to you-- check out such packages as Schooldaze's The Suite and anything done by Samildanach, Stormi and Dalinise. Then, purchase Vicki 2 and buy Vicki 3 as an upgrade, again with at least the Head morphs. The body morphs are lovely and variable-- if you like big breasted women they are indispensible, however!! Most of the time, extensive use of body morphs-- even with V3 who has some morphable clothing-- means you will not be able to fit clothes on your Vicki-- not third party clothes, which will be your largest amount. The only body morphs I've used on V3 are the male morphs and I love those. I've enjoyed the creative possibilities of her head morphs considerably. Emily
I've been into Poser since last year and only now do I have the pennies for her. I've had practice with the low resolution victoria. As I too learned, v3 still has a lot more stuff coming. So I'll go with v2 Base and an upgrade to 3. I haven't gotten into the head morphs in depth. This is why I had to get the full version with its morphs and extras. queri, I was thinking of the victoria2 cd. At least coz the head morph is there, if I'm right. About male - is there a micheal 3 coming out? Or are the male morphs sufficient enough that there's no need to get michael? The texture converter - probably the next target. Thanks to everyone for all the info. Hope to learn more from all you gurus and to post works here. dv8
Oh, you need Michael, whether you can wait till Summer or beyond is the question. I really don't know about the cd, I don't generally recommend that pople buy them because the clothing pak's are not all that valuable-- there's plenty clothing out there for Vicki that is free and plenty textures as well. The hair you get on the cd is the flip-- I've used the flip once, so much free hair you don't need it. If Mike 3 wasn't on the way, I'd say get him, but there is plenty to do with the Vicki's and maybe look into some nice sets-- the MnDi collections have some rather nice settings to put your vickis in while your waiting for Michael. I'm fairly sure prices will go down on the Mike 2 when Mike 3 comes out and Mike 3, if he's anything like Vicki 3 and he will be better, should be amazing. Emily
Couple things to think about with Mike-- less free textures, though more than there used to be and some of the best textures for Mike only cost about $8, see spectre3's store here. And the textures on the cd are not hi-res. Used to be they included the wedge hair onthe cd, now it's the flattop-- not as good. The wedge plus the wonderwedge will get you six times the number of hairdos and that's for vicki too. I end up using Jeanz and other stuff for Mike when I dress him. His T-shirt is semi useful, but you'd get enough to dress Mike, and Vicki2 and Vicki3 from a Poserworld subscription. A PoserStyle Subscription would get you as many Mike textures as you would ever need and some of the best Rick 2000 is fabulous.Lots of Mike clothes too. I bought both the clothing packs and all I've ever used are shoes, t-shirt and catsuit-- and the catsuit was remapped. All I've ever used from Vicki's clothes pack is the two boots and that was only for awhile-- you see how many boots there are out there??? But I like punky and fantasy stuff to render. Your mileage may certainly vary there. This is what I would do-- start downloading all the free stuff you can find in separate folders for Mike and Vicki, maybe another for Vicki 3. One more for settings and backdrops. Then see what you really need after you've done that. Three major download places-- here, RDNA, and 3DCommune. Consider if a subscription to PoserWorld would be the difference between 2 cd's plus Vicki and Mike. If it was get that. Incrediable outfits. For Mike textures, there's DigitMan and Bishop in FreeStuff, both incrediable textures-- you have to wait till Bishop is available but its worth the wait. For Vicki, go to Rdna and get Devin, Michelle, Stabitha and Eliza. All fab and different. Emily
That's just what I've been doing the past months. All the downloads I've collected rival KMart's inventory. I do have a few free Mike tex's. Probably purchase a couple of really good ones if ever I do get Michael. Well, it'll take a few weeks before I receive my Vic2. Has anyone here purchased Asia by StefiZ.? Any feedback? vee

Hiya people. I plan to buy the Victoria Base Model. But I don't know whether I should get v2 or v3 or both. This is coz I have a lot of downloaded character textures and stuff for v2 and I don't know whether they could be used or modified for use on v3. I even plan to get my first "real" character texture but its for the v2. Out of your experience with the versions, what should I get - Victoria 2 or 3 or is it more advisable to get both? Thanks in advance. vee
