I can't make up my mind on what to buy. :) There's so much. My wife's gonna hate me on this paycheck and the next one. :( (sale ends june 2, that means I can do this twice...)

You can't use it on any Victoria stuff except the newest pack. In other words you can't buy the Vickie model or maps.

Well, I bought Vicky when she came out. And i just recently received an email with 40% coupon redemeable on every item purchased... They say it's a "Thank You" for all those that bought 'Vicky'... I'd say: It's very good business on their part. Guest what?? I bought myself 4 items have been delaying to buy!! Since, i'm canadian, that just about covered the exchange rate(NOT bad!). And ARCADY! I do know the situation you're in. My girlfriend is gonna give me a very long speech when i teel her... ;-))

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 16 May 2000 at 5:46 AM

I bought her too, before the price went up. If I had known they were going to kick a coupon out I would have held off on a lot of things...lol.

I am an idiot and forgot to use my coupon :( -Darth_LOgice

Cool deal, but why didn't somebody warn me the Map Pack was 12+ MEG???? Not really a complaint :) Paul ::Who did remember to use his coupon... just::

Okay, now all you guys who bought the stuff--how bout trying to map that dang long dress LOL. I'm lost--see above thread. I THOUGHT I knew what I was doing, but.... Diane B

Well I bought a bunch of stuff, but they didn't give me download URLs for all of it... So right now I'm waiting for Zygote to reply to my memo to their sales people... I ordered the entire Victoria line, and a few things I was interested in.

Diane, I hope somebody does the long dress map too - or at least tells us how to do it. That was the first thing I did and I have this smeary texture from the knees down :-) I think I may need a tutorial (again :-) for this pack of clothes. Claire

picnic ( ) posted Tue, 16 May 2000 at 11:45 AM

Claire, that's what happens when you use their template and then morph as you found out--the template is fine for the short dress. I like the fact that you can 'select' areas to make transparent--or map differently with their map. And--I like the morph for the long dress. Its just that I'd like to make a texture for the long dress and not just 'color'. I thought I did it the way I made new models/templates before with Steve Shanks giving me sort of a blow by blow method. However, I can't get the long dress saved in the library to come back as a 'long dress' LOL--AND, the model/template I made in UV mapper didn't work correctly. So---HEELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPP!!! (please, in a small voice). Diane B

Gee, I was glad to see Zygote get this up, as I really need some Vicki CR2s, life is just too short to do them from scratch! From the pics the items look nothing like the Vicki items I'm working on, I'm so glad! Claire- I haven't looked at the items yet (I'm still at my real job), but if the skirt morphs streach the skirt very much texture maps aren't going to work properly - On any Poser morph, if you streach too far the maps sort of go tward white in that area. I ran into this problem when I was trying to do long (evening gown type) gloves, I don't know how many people are aware of it, but it happens.

picnic ( ) posted Tue, 16 May 2000 at 3:22 PM

Right Jim, but since you do models and use UV Mapper, is it possible to make a new model from the morphed dress or skirt plus the template--or are am I (and some others) whistling in the wind G??

Jim Burton ( ) posted Tue, 16 May 2000 at 3:44 PM

picnic- It might be possable, I think the last patch for Poser has the option to export an object file "in place", the earlier versions always did an offset. They you could make a new template in UV Mapper (you would loose the "unfolding" some models have, but the skirt is just mapped as a cylinder anyway, I checked). I haven't actually tried it, of course. Changes are happening these days so close togeather it is hard to keep track!
