I went to school in the mid-60s also, but many of the classrooms hadn't been changed since the '40s. We had inkwell desks like these. In fact, some rooms still had the WWII blackout shades, now that you mention it. Again thanks to Geralday for simple and fast stuff. This is a set I could have built for myself easily, but it's more fun when somebody else made it.... sort of like tickling.
