New at Daz3d! Yes, she's back up and ready to go!

KOSHINI!

Darling little 4 fingered cartoon girl with a smidge of attitude and too cute to be taken seriously.

She's on sale till the 17th for $15.96!

Go easy on your critiques, she's my very first model post classes so I'm really open to any suggestions/ideas that anyone has to offer!

My website has several sketches and teasers for future packs if you find her interesting, please drop by and have a look and/or drop me a line!
http://www.ladylittlefox.com/3dArt.html

Huge thanks to NikitaCreed, Hokusai, Gareth, Mercy, Lalita and Marque who helped me emensly in the beta testing. The pickiest and most fantastic Beta Testers out there! And a special thanks to Lalita for the body gloves so dear Koshini didn't go naked in her base pack and Hakusai for his incredible Manikin that with a JP Pose should let her wear Vicky clothes (keep your eyes open for the Manikin, not sure when he's going to release it)

Side note that came up in testing: Koshini uses Victoria poses pretty darn well, though not perfectly (Her head's too big) And any problems posing the hair items, use the rotate tool instead of the move and you shouldn't have any further trouble ;)

Hugs! and hopes you guys enjoy her, can't wait to see what sort of trouble and fun she gets into with such a creative crowd!

I'd suggest to grab her fast because she moves quickly on the Daz site!! Very cute. There will be a lot of graphics using her, I'm sure. :)

Ack, the old promo picture... here, with ringlets and all... (hides my head in shame... can you tell I'm new at this?)

dialyn ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 1:26 PM

And perhaps a little excited to have your baby out in the world?

*Giggles* She's a goofy little Imp, I know she was playing a prank or something on the webmaster, probably had to be physically pinned to the page to make her stay there ;)

littlefox ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 1:32 PM

file_49029.jpg

And a Popup of her hair... But I really should stop with that and a couple of posts of her clothes ;) After all, they're the same popups on Daz's site ;P

Textures on the hair are made with the plans to make them fit every future hair and the textures from future packs fitting these. Working on a 'universal mat' file so you just have one mat file that works on everyone, but it's not finished yet.

Anyway, texture mapping is incredibly easy to make and the hair is pretty well suited to just ripping out the texture, leaving in the trans and bumps and using the paint can on the girl if you want to ;)

file_49030.jpg

Incredibly Excited! Lord, she's my first, and I'm so proud! Just hope she does as well for everyone as she has for me ;P

Here's a shot of her Clothing Pack #1.

Pants are all variations on the same theme as are the shirts, but enough different to warrant different obj files rather than morphs. The curly hair is a wee bit tempramental so remember to use limits and the rotate if at all possible ;)

The texture maps included are pretty simple in variety, the clothing itself is pretty well suited to just ripping the textures off completely and paint canning those as well, materials are mapped for it.

file_49031.jpg

Fair warning, there is a misprint on the bottom of the Koshini BasePack Page. The Bikini hasn't been released yet, It's part of Clothing Pack #3 - Island Girl, which is still in development (The Grass skirt is giving me fits). They asked me if I could cover up her naughty bits for the promo shots and since I'm going to sell the Clothing Pack #3 through them as well they didn't mind. Or didn't comment. ;)

Hugs and goes into wait mode ;)

THANKS SO MUCH!

She is wonderful!! What a unique and very very cool addition to the poser folks!

Crescent ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 2:47 PM

2 questions - Just to make sure, the hair is a separate object, correct? Are you going to make a male version soon or morphs to make her male? I'd hate to have female only anime. Thanks!

littlefox ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 2:59 PM

Hair is a separate object from the body, yep, but it's included in the package. Going to try to make it so that every pack that I make for her will have hair, clothes and shoes at the very least ;). As to male, yep! I've already got sketches done of the male and child version worked out, though it may take me a bit of time to get to them. I have several packs for Koshini slated to get her started and by the time that I get them finished my son may be home full time for summer vacation so things could get crazy. But yes, there are plans for a separate model for the men without the mega lips ;P but with huge spikey hair it's tradition ;). As to male morphs, I'm not quite as good at full body morphs as some, though I'm hoping someone will have the wild hair to give a shot at it ;) I know I'm not /that/ good. But I'm willing to learn ;) Hugs!!! Littlefox

WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Xena ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 3:22 PM

BTW, if you want morphs done, let me know. I'm at Daz buying her now and I love making morphs :)

littlefox ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 3:29 PM

Laughs, oh go to town on her hon! Would love to see anything you can do with her! I'm Dial-Happy, I admit it ;)!! I tell you, biggest thing I'm looking forward to is seeing the first pack someone else releases for her ;) Littlefox

Xena ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 3:37 PM

Ack .. don't tempt me :) I'm already thinking about this litttle number that would look so cute on her LOL

Crescent ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 3:40 PM

Xena, if you did a morph pack to make her male, I'd buy it. (Assuming littlefox didn't have a problem with that.) I'd hate to wait months to get the male character (yes, I'm a spoiled brat and proud of it!), and while I'm getting okay at modelling, I still can't do decent morphs.

littlefox ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 3:56 PM

Hey go for it! I don't mind one bit! Make morph packs, texture packs, clothing packs, re-uvmapp her if you feel the need to! Would tickle me pink to see her be even a third as popular as Aiko ;)! No way to do that if I'm the only one releasing stuff for her ;P I AM SERIOUS! I just made the starting point, it's up to all you cuteness fiends out there to make her live up to her potential ;) And don't worry won't offend me one bit to see male morphs of her selling. Will still be building the male from my sketches when I get the time but hey, if Koshini can do the genderbender thing, more power to the little imp! Hugs! Littlefox

Gorodin ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 4:03 PM

Very good looking product. If I ever need to do some Chiba style anime, I know exactly where to go... I might have to look at doing some Manga style clothes textures...

Xena ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 4:09 PM

Gorodin, I'll make the clothing, you do the manga textures for it ;) And Crescent, sheesh, don't encourage me LOL

Cylithera ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 4:28 PM

She's so cute! I think I'm going to get her soon! But what happened to her cute spaceship and guns? :D

Crescent ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 5:02 PM

Waves credit card at Xena Who, me?

Gorodin ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 6:11 PM

The spaceship and guns was for the martian faery, based on the Mil Kids figure. That was cute too tho...

Gorodin ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 6:12 PM

Xena, Maybe we should talk? :-)

joffry ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 6:25 PM

yes yes, definitely you two should talk :)).. I just got both packs and was playing. I am very pleased. Will not be eating much this month after this weeks purchases, but, I won't have time anyway.. Hurry with the new paks.. I feel a diet coming on..

queri ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 7:28 PM

Yes, Xena and Gorodin, please talk-- she's on my list. Finally a character that works with the toonamils. Littlefox, these are fabulous megaPaks, I love the curly hair!! Emily

Blazerwiccan ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 7:46 PM

Gosh she is too cute and if Xena and Gorodin start working on her she will be a must have. I need to find a way to make more money fast. Sigh Will have to wait to get her for awhile. She does look wonderful though!

LilWolff ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 10:26 PM

The toonamils at my poser house threated to strike if I didn't get Koshini. I should never let them peek over my shoulder when I am browsing the net. grin She is positively adorable! A wonderfully unique and exciting new poser character at an affordable price. Congratulation on launching her to the world, I wish you much success! :-)

dragongirl ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 10:54 PM

Wonderful! Wonderful!! Great character - can't wait to see what everyone will do with her. :-)

Carcinogen ( ) posted Thu, 06 March 2003 at 11:05 PM

People were asking about male characters compatible with Koshini. This model comes loaded with so many morphs that give it such potential, it can already be done. I did this character in about 10 minutes. Excuse my slapped-together lights and lack of postwork, but you get the idea of the extent of what can be done with Koshini!

Also all those hair versions that came with earlier Poser that never quite look right on Vickie and Mike? Guess what? They look teriffic on Koshini! Just scale to about 156% and adjust a little lower on the Y axis.

Lilfox, you're going to sweep the floor with this one. Wow, she beats the hell out of Aiko anyday. Caly's image says it all. Especially face. Terminally cute is right! She's a killer, congrats. I'd like to see morphs that make her less girl and more woman. Amongst other things. Suggestion: Create a total package with the original figure and several of the clothes add ons, sort of 'everything in one' package. That grabs me even better that several releases, feels more price competitive then :o) How many hairstyles can the basic package do? Oh gawd I hope I can resist her and NOT pull out my credit card, it's stone dead already.... sigh.....

FishNose ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2003 at 5:09 AM

Hey I just reread your first post - about Hokusai's JP Manikin. Vicki clothes compatibility? The Holy Grail, wow.... if that happens I'm dead. Or at least my credit card is! :] Fish

FishNose ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2003 at 5:11 AM

Oops, third post in a row.... could you kick us a wirefame so we can see her vertices? You know, how many and where... for future modeling efforts. :] Fish

OH MY GOD! LAUGHS MYSELF SILLY! Carcinogen, that is incredible!!!! My husband looked over my shoulder and is still convinced that it can't possibly but Koshini ;) Very good job!

Fishnose: Giggles, yep, you heard right and as you can see above, there is a Manikin already finished (just not posted yet) by Lord Nakagawa and I've got a JP Pose ready to go, though it's a little raw. The above has only had the tailor apply the morph to Anton's MW Adventurer, the JP set, and conformed, only weirdness on this one though is that the R&L Collars are named oddly so they don't take the JP Pose very well, but they tweaked decently by just front-back, and side-side rotations on them. The Cape could probably use some work, but like I said, this one's in the raw, no real fitting done.

Marketing thoughts: Hmmmm Actually I hadn't given any thought to packaging them together before you just said it, though at that point I'd like to make sure someone gets a real value out of her. May talk to Daz once I get Pack #2 and #3 done and see about a Koshini CD release or something.... No idea how they would work that but if people are interested, KEWL!

Only real marketing scheme I do have is releasing complete outfit bundles, hair, outfit, and shoes, so that each package can stand alone rather than having to get half a dozen packages to get one decent render. Always seemed sorta unfair to me not to do that, dearly love how DarkWhisper does it so that's what I'm trying to do!

However, if you guys would like to see smaller packs as well of just the hair or shoes or whatever split off as well as larger bundles, let me know! I'm way flexable, just new at this ;P

Also, you asked about Wiremesh.... not sure how well this is going to come out, poser and I were having words this morning ;)

And your question on the base package and number of hair styles? Well styling, only one, there are 30 textures but the only real styling with the dog ears is arranging the ponytails, hiding the ringlets or removing the bells. The Texture map is the same across all the hair models by virtue of making UV maps first and then the model, so all the hair is perfectly straight on the Map but curves on the model.... the Vertex points are all incredibly different so Dog Ears can't morph into Koshini Curls, but they can use each other's textures, bumps and transmaps.

Hope that makes more sense ;)

dragongirl ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2003 at 11:58 AM

I really like the plan you have for making hair and outfits in packages together - and they seem like very good value for the money - and that she comes with something to get you started - and not just all by herself with lots of add-ons needed. (Gotta check my CC balance and see if I can do this ASAP!) I can't wait to see all you and others will be creating for her. :-) I want some cute dresses - or at least mix and match tops and skirts - including long glamorous skirts - maybe fairytale type outfits. !! :-))) (Or possibly fits for some V2 similar items) The Adventurers is a good place to start. Can't wait to get her (but I might have to! LOL!) -dg

Chuckles, have you peekd at my sketchbook yet? Have it on my website so people can see what I've got planned and suggest other things they'd like to see ;) Also have sneak peeks of packs already in development Go to the 'UPCOMING!' for the sketches. Most of them are just in the sketching stage at the moment, I'm still fighting with Pack #2 and #3.... 2's almost done... probably another week before the Beta Testers start picking at it ;) Let me know what'cha think? ;) Will be taking a short break after I finish Pack #3 to make a gift pack that'll be only available as a freebie for people sending in photos of Koshini for her fan gallery ;) Haven't decided what I'm making yet but it's looking like it's probably going to be kitty girl. HUGS! Littlefox

dragongirl ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2003 at 12:28 PM

Very cute sketches! I would like to see a bell-skirted fancy dress too - like the outfit for Cinderella in Disney's Cinderella - or Anton's now unavailable big period dress model (only textures for it are available now at DAZ). This is going to be a really beautiful set of products. Love the hair in all of them! One thing, I have a small monitor (tiny space!) and use a 800x600 screen resolution - your frame for the menu doesn't scroll - and doesn't fit on the screen at this resolution PC-IE6) - and I hate to miss anything!! :-) -dg

littlefox ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2003 at 12:35 PM

EEEEP and goes to fix that, thought I had ;) THANK YOU!!! Frontpage drives me positively batty some days! ;) Grins on the Cinderella dress, oh KEWL! I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in ball gowns, one of my passions is ball gowns with the huge skirts that require hoops and boning. Just never saw anyone doing them really, so I thought I was the only one who liked them ;) Hugs! Littlefox

dragongirl ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2003 at 12:47 PM

You know - when I left a message in your Guest Book and then refreshed the page - THEN I got a side frame menu with a scroll bar. Maybe you will know what all that means. I don't! LOL! I don't think there have been any Ball Gown models created - the only I've seen is Anton's and by the time I was ready to buy it, it wasn't available any more. I image a bell skirt might be difficult to make poseable. (non-modeler here - I have NO idea - just guessing!) later - dg

littlefox ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2003 at 12:51 PM

First guess at the meaning: Frontpage is stoned ;P Actually a Bell gown would be easier I think, lot less conforming of the legs, It's the skin tight numbers that are frighteningly complex ;) I'm still trying to learn all of Burton's method for making conforming long skirts, that's what's giving me such fits today actually ;) Littlefox

Styxx did a gorgeous Vicki Ballgown-- it used to be here-- don't know if it still is, maybe not. Great big bell skirt. I love em too. Any chance to clear it with Daz to release any of the adventurers or hint hint, Olympian outfits from Tailor?? For the Mac people and the Tailor impaired. Emily

Xena ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2003 at 6:48 PM

What about a magnet pack to morph clothing down to her dimensions, along with a pose file containing her jp's? I have one set up for V3 (and all my morphed characters) - makes my life a lot easier when I want to put something on her :D I made a little clothing pack for Kosh last nite. She was very well behaved and didn't complain once. And she was really pleased that her outfit fits her better than Aiko's matching one does wink She promised me some time later today to do a couple of renders to show off ... so hopefully she'll still be available for that ;)

littlefox ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2003 at 6:52 PM

Oh heavens if someone could do that it would be incredible. I frankly suck at magnets but have seen what is possible. Would be fantastic to see something like that released. giggles Naughty little minx, buttering you up. Watch out, she'll have you up all night making a closet full of clothes for her and still complain that she has "Nothing to wear" ;) Can't wait to see how she looks in her new dress ;)!!
