We will implement a new feature today called Favorite Artists or Favorite Images. When you click into an art image and really like that image or the artists - you will be able to add this to a favorites page. Under the vote for this image, there will be Add to Favorite Artists or Add to Favorite Image. When you select either of these options.. you will be prompted with a text box to enter what you like or why you chose it. This is optional. Your favorite artists and images will show up on your homepage and you will have a "My Favorites" link within the gallery under the sort area. We hope you enjoy this feature. thanks tammy

This sounds like a great new addition! Do artists know when someone adds them to their Favorites list? It would be kind of nice for people to know that someone likes their art enough to have added them to their list. :) Either way, thanks very much for this new feature! SnowS

Good thinking, SnowSultan. That would be nice. I'm assuming that you can also remove people from your list (I know...why would you want to do that? but it might happen).

This is a very nice feature ... they have the same feature over at deviantarts.com ... and it's very nice there also, because you do get an email letting you know that someone added you to their favorites list, and who that someone is, along with any comments.

Yes, those selected as a favorite artists/image receive an email letting them know. You can remove images and artists from your favorites. This feature lists only public favorites at this time. thanks tammy

Tammy, I added some images to my brand-new fav images list, reserving to add a comment later. But now it seems I'm not able to update the comments, so the comments are left blank... is still a work-in-progress, or there's something I didn't understand? Stefano

If you type in what you want, and then hit edit, the field should update. At least it did for me. This is great fun. I'm going nuts trying to remember certain artists though. The curse of the disorganized.

Thank you, Tammy, this is great! When you select a favorite artist or image and write a note, does the artist in question also receive the text of the note in the notifying e-mail or is it just displayed on your homepage?

The artist can click on a link so they can go and read the message.

For programmer, I found something that could cause problem to add "favorite artist" ... Nickname with the symbol ' in it cause trouble in the script ! Ex: I tried to add one of my favorite artist Heart'Song and I had an error in script, and I was unable to add that ! Hi tutone, I click "edit" and the page reloads, but then doesn't show any change. This happens when I type text in a blank space and also when I try to change a already present text. Stefano

Thanks for the edit fix. Sue88, I wrote the note intending it to be a reminder to myself but then when I saw that they (and others)could read it as well I decided to make it more of a comment on their work. Kind of like when I comment on their pictures :-)

Great Stuff! How about also receiving an email whenever your favorite artist uploads a new image to it's gallery? Or when a comment has been placed on a favorite image? Or adding a comment for the artist whenever you add him to your favorites list. Also please show a favorites dropdownmenu in the galleries so you are able to easily browse to his gallery... And how about adding some more content levels? nudity: topless, full, imaginary violence: low, medium, hard, brutal making more difference between the types of images... Other Offtopic Suggestion while I am at it... Is it possible to add a Signature option in your profile which will be added at the bottom of selected forumposts? Hmm, I saw it was already possible to add a comment to your favorite artist... sorry, my fault... Please, I also want to be able to add myself to the favorites, is that possible? Makes it a bit easier for me to browse to my gallery ;)

i hate to be picky because I don't really have any "favorites", although I may choose a few sometime, but this is good idea. Can one choose there own self as a favorite artist?

Very useful, especially since i usually am only in the Bryce gallery. Miss so many others so actually when i see one interesting, be easy to keep track.

It's like a treasure hunt. You can go to the artist's page of someone you like and find graphics they like and then you might like them too. It's fun.

The price of being popular. You could set your email to filter out those messages.

When someone adds you to their favorites list what do the numbers mean?

tutone, I think your new ebot might have a few bugs. I got notification of the same image two or three times today and only one had the right address. The rest was galleryid=???. Just thought I'd let ya know...

ShadowWind - around 12:00 PM CST we were doing a little tweaking to the Favorites script - that should have been around the time you got the error. If not please let me know and I'll investigate further. Thanks.

Bloodsong...bummer. Other than asking people not to put you on the lists (which won't work, the only thing I can suggest is that it is just a one time event for each person. Perhaps if you can stand it for another few days, the emails will taper off.

Can we have the option to have the notification of a new gallery image turned off? I just recieved 15 of the same email

When viewing galleries, I click on "Favourites", I assume I'm supposed to get a gallery of my favourite images but I get an empty page - is this going to be fixed ?
