Hey mav, i hope i didn't miss the point of the challenge because english is not my native language :o) i made a portrait of my wife in poser and did the final picture in photoshop. now it looks like some kind of painting. well, the poserpart looks not really close to the original, but i needed something to load into and modify with photoshop. tell me what you think, mav! (and everybody else of course) it took me 3hours to make it and i learned some new functions in photoshop i didnt noticed before. Thank you mav :o) Have fun! Karsten

Wow... that was fast and a really good job. I commented in the forum with my suggestions for improvement. I'm glad you learned some new things about Photoshop in the process. That's one of the best parts of the challenge. I picked up a new Bryce trick or two on Verdie's challenge to me. That should be up soon. I also haven't forgotten about my anime challenge. In fact, I have already sketched the picture, but my computer has been rendering my cave of verdie pic for the 3 or four days (my fault for rendering at 375dpi, I suppose) so I have been tad delayed. :-)

mav, what do you mean with "for 3 or 4 days"???? really DAYS???...well, I'm now really curios what the pic will look like! i'm glad that you like the picture and i will try to add the things you mentioned on the pic-site during the next 2 days and will update the picture then... see ya...

yeah... really for 3 or 4 days.... I tend to make things that are like 24x36 inches and then I just shrink them down to post here... problem is that it takes a while... especially when I use voulmetric lights and stuff like that. I can't say whether its worth it or not... the effects on the shrunken pictures are subtle at best, but I tend to notice.... plus, if I ever try to sell something as a print later, it needs to be high res. Anyway... I started the render Friday night... its now tue. afternoon and it hasn't gotten to antialiasing yet.... another big problem is that I keep pushing Bryce into the background ot do other stuff.... sigh... maybe I should buy anohter 256M of memory.

i should add some ram to my PC, too... yeah, i noticed that a picture becomes sharper if i shrink it, but thats no reason to me to make it THAT huge! :o) well, i haven't to sell them, so its no problem to me ..hehehe... keep designing! see ya...i think i will come up with the picture-update this evening (german time)
