Here are two of the drafts I made for the banner contest (the above is the first). I haven't participated before and I can't tell if this is TOO simple. I've always believed that things should be kept faitly simple but I also wonder if this is a contest demonstrating the participant's Photoshop skills. Just let me know what you think. Oh yeah, this is not an actual entry.

They both look very clean and straight-forward. I like that.

The contest is basically set out to allow the members to move out of their "comfort-zone" and try something a little different. A lot of strenght in PS is not necessarily in the "eye-candy" aspect but in the clear communication of information and design.

I'm looking forward to seeing which direction you'll take with your entry. Remember to add BCE to the title when you are ready to submit it.

In the first one, the blue is over-powering and competes with the text. In the second one everything is balanced nicely.

The second is very nice.. easy to read and look at...... Very nice job...
