Subject: Why not just sell it as gray scale

I have wanted to ask this for some time now What is up with the color thing you see this lovely texture and you think if this one is good the rest have to be killer and then you see the rest and its the same as the first just a different color I have been seeing this a lot a lovely texture for 15$ and some lights and a few poses but all the textures are the same just a different color may I ask why? Why not the 5 textures your doing all be a different pattern and color and not just he same pattern and a different color? Why not just sell it as gray scale and let the buyer change the color him/her self.

I'm sorry, but I gotta agree. When Ivy and I worked on the textures for the two dragons (Dracos Titanicus and the T'ien Lung), we made darn sure each pattern was different, and not just pallette swapped.

I totally agree Bobbie, I think if you're going to sell em and make alternate textures, there should be some variety to make it worth buying. Like you said, I can change the color etc. in Adobe Photoshop if I wanted a new color. I've been let down a few times by this so I know where you're coming from.

yep, it would be nice to know if a "texture" is just a hue variation or a totally new texture. it is quite obvious with some promos but on others you can get fooled.

I agree also.. If I did add a couple of simple hue or colour change textures into a package I would not calculate those into the price. Haven't done it yet. I would also make sure it was clear in promotional images and the txt file that a colour change was the only difference. Helen

I don't see anything wrong with different colors myself with the same texture, but I think it should be duly noted in the promotional material...

i agree bobbie, i'm not about to spend money on a texture set that only has 1 pattern with a few colour changes, if i wanted to change just the colour varriation i would do it my self.

I agree it should be sed in the promotional material shadowwind if all they do is one pattern with just color changes
