you can't have too many textures (recent count, I have 1,218..consisting, I think, of about 400 unique items..hate dupes, dangit..;) Bring 'em on..;) What's the render times on those? I've gotten exponentially longer times to render, depending on the number of volumetrics I use

Wow, Rich, is amazing! I didn't notice anything like that, but now that you have outlined it... wow! AgentS, absolutely yes! As soon as I saw them on my screen, I decided I will use them somewhere. I'm trying them on Poser figures right now... yours seem very good planets... the textures are awesome! :-P LOL. Pakled: the first one took 6 hours to render at 1024, but I set SuperFine at 16rpp because I wanted to get rid of some artifact (one has remained, as you can see, in the bottom right corner, and to post in the gallery I did a bit of postwork). The second one took 3 hours at 1024 with SuperFine AA at 9rpp (<-- the only reason was that the estimate time was lower with this setting than with Normal AA) I've saved them at 1024x768. If you want to use them as textures, let me know, I will post here in the forum slightly larger versions. Don't remeber what's the limit right now, but I'm using them at 800x600 and it seems enough. Glad you liked 'em :) Stefano

Er, AgentS, I sort of joked on it... I recognized them, ya know :) Jonathan, your tuts are my Second Bryce Bible (after RWB4 by AuntiAlias). I've always found them simple and incredibly effective. This seems a very good occasion to thank you a lot for all the things I've learned reading and trying them. Stefano

Jonathan's tutorial got me started with volumetric thingies. I recently put a few new ones up in my gallery. Take a look, please. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
