Allo there, here I go again with my useless concerns about copyright. What if I die ? 1-If I die tomorrow, will my inheritors be authorized to use the marketplace and DAZ stuff that's on my computer ? 2-Will they be allowed to give them to a friend of mine ? 3-Will they be allowed to sell them to someone ? 4-If so, will they be allowed to sell them via the net ? What if I go to a dangerous place ? 5-Am I allowed to give my precious libraries to a friend, in case I don't come back ? Any ideas about my morbid ruminations are welcome. Compiler

1. yes if you specifically assign those rights to them via a legal document (i.e. a will) 2) transfer of ownership/or resale (at least as far as it pertains to Daz3d) can be done but only with prior notification & permission. Remember you are just transferring a license to use the model/texture/etc. 3) see #2 4) see #2 5) see #2

Documentation is always good as far as being able to use the items that you have already bought, but I would not attempt to make plans about resale without first contacting DAZ and the marketplace. I think its understandable that your spouse or family members may continue to use poser items without first licensing them to themselves. As long as they understand that they cannot redistribute them. Secondly, make sure you specifically will the contents of your computer to your spouse or a family member. Assuming, you are married, it would make sense to license poser items in both your names when you buy them, that way there is less hassel later. pakled, the "Sonny Bono" copyright extension act (1998) did expand protection to 75 years after a creators' death however those rights are generally considered personal property & must be awarded either via a will or probate court to a decendant.

I am having my copy of Poser 5 buried with me! Some people have buried Poser 5 already. Personally, I am rather upset at the thought of someone else playing with MY poser people after my death. They might do something unseemly with my little fairies, or torture Vicky or put strange morphs on Mike's private parts or .......

If Vicky dies when the last person stops using her, when will that be?
