There is a very cool contest going on in the Mojo forum. You could win MojoWorld 2.0!! Check it out, it's a prety cool program. I say, the more software you have to play with, the better...

But can it do translucent Poser ears, I ask you. :-) Or True Ambience? Or (at least fake) global illumination? Or allow you to texture your figures to high heaven? I do agree with your statement, though. The more the merrier.

I don't know, have a look at the gallery... I know it can do reflections and refractions. Ask in our Mojo forum,...

I looked at the contest and it's a bit unfair. You pick a copy of the demo and you try to create something with it. In a month. From a cold start. No way a beginner can really make something memorable.

Thanks Spike! Jim Morrison of "The Doors", may he rest in peace, advised that you should "Get your Mojo working!". I'll check it out!

Though the headmast picture is really good. The landscape is excellently created and textured. Who created it? Says something like Arnold or Armand Auseklis in the lower left corner. But I'm already starting to hate the big moons in the sky. Apparently, Mojoworld equivalent of a chrome sphere over water or naked Vicky in a temple.

Erlik, I am no Mojo expert, but was able to turn this out in just a few days (link). If I can do it, I know it can be done. Have you tried it yet?

Erlik: MojoWorld is as much about exploration of existing worlds as creating new ones. I suggest you go in and play Ansel Adams with the free Transporter. There's plenty of beauty to be found--that no one, including the artist who created the planet, has seen before! They are the size of Earth, by default, and that gives us a lot to explore. MojoWorld is really different. It's a window on a parallel universe. That universe exists (in the maths); we're now free to seek out and record the beauty to be found there. But it does require that you "think different." ;-) -Mo

Worth a try, nothing to loose but a little time! Thanks!

"think different," like using a mac? lol

Spike: "If I can do it, I know it can be done," ha? I don't believe you, especially if I look at your modelling work. :-P I love the way the water looks over the shallows and the foam. And Armands has some great pictures done in Mojo.

Hey Doc, As a layman aspiring to become an artist I've been told many times "It isn't the tool it's the artist." as a mechanic I learned that you need "the right tool for the right job." Perhaps it's " a journey of a thousand miles ..." that "... begins with a single step". In any case it's worth a try. Besides my alter ego's alter ego wanted to check out MojoWorld. I think that this alter alter ego (Darth Bikermouse,) Is looking just looking for a new world to conquer, Or he may think that you are part of a paradox (or a pair of Docs - not sure he knows the difference), but I'll bring him by later anyway . . . (BTW - if he tells you that he's your father don't listen to him - he says that to everybody; for the shock value, I think.) Thanks Doc - All kidding aside, I tried mojoworld once before and I thought It's great; maybe it's time to get reaquanted with it, - TJ

Doc Mojo ( ) posted Mon, 17 March 2003 at 9:47 PM

Yes, madmax, "only different." >;^)

The weirdest thing about MojoWorld is that it is literally a window on a parallel universe. Just as "2" is presumably the answer to the computation "1+1" for all time and space in this universe, all these MojoWorld planets and the images we make of them, already exist in the timeless truth of mathematical logic.

So, just as you don't "create" 2 as the answer to the computation 1+1, we don't "create" these worlds--we discover them.

(I told you it requires that we Think Different!)

MojoWorld collapses the distinction between creation and exploration. Weird, eh?

But as bikermouse points out, it's more the artist than the tool--so it takes a very intelligent, creative search process to discover the cool worlds and the beautiful scenes on them.
