Hi all, I've posted my last image in the art gallery and in 3 hours it is in 10th page. The amount of uploads here is impressive and it is good for renderosity, but for us is frustrating (we all know the being surclassed by naked plastic chicks is horrible). users of this site are thousand and thousand and everyone can ulpd 3 images per day. I'd like to improve the overall quality of this site because i miss a lot of good images only because they are hiddend between standard, without fantasy and boring images. So my idea is: since one takes, in average, some hours to make a good image why don't limit the upload to 1 image per day? So all the dudes that make simply images(hey i don't think that simply means ugly, you've understand me, I think) and have a lot of time to use their preferred program, maybe will think a bit more about what are they doing and will improve their images waiting to be able to upload it. What do you think? I'd like, in particular, to have AgentSmith's opinion (since he is inside this affair). Bye, vasquez

I'm with you on this one, vasquez, but I would like to change it to 7 images per week. I can't get to the site every day, and would hate to lose my ability to post more than one image if I only made it to the gallery one day a week. Tjohn

We actually allow 3 a day, just beacause we can, Renderosity has a very large server and can take the volume. Let me think on this one, come up with pros and cons for both sides... AS

I agree with you vazquez, this will definitivly improve the overall image quality, but what if some one uploaded a wrong image or worked on two projects at the same time?

if someone upload a wrong image he can re edit the post. For the 2 project at the same time... maybe the idea of tjhon is better 7 images per week so i can upload 2 at the same day. The purpose of my idea is to make people think if it worth before posting something.

7 per week seems reasonable, i'm with you on that!

I suggested this a while back in another forum, but some of the Tits and Temple brigade objected ;) I would say 7 images a week is more than enough, along with a 2-image / day maximum (else you'll get people loading all 7 up at once just to prove a point).

I agree with you, vazquez. I see a problem with 7 images a week, though: people will probably have more time on weekends and the galleries are going to explode those days. Just something to consider.

well i agree with all of you but that doesn't solve my problem. here is my problem. sometime this month im getting a really nice scanner, and i have a lot of non-computer artwork (and no its not tits and temples) that i plan to post here on renderosity. but its going to take me forever at the 7 posts per week rate. other than that, i agree with you 100%

paul i understand your problem, I suppose you will scan some photo you made and will post here for us. Showing us your photos you want to comunicate and share with us your feeling and memories, don't you think that being allowed to post only few of them will oblige to select them and so understand what do you exactly you want to comunicate us? p.s. (it's a shame that you won't show us some real tits, sometimes is nice to see them... ;-) )...just a joke...

well thats the things, i already made that selection. I develope and process my won black and white prints in my darkroom and if you have ever done black and white printing, you will know that it only makes sense to print the best of the best photos. generally 1 photo per roll of film. but i have come up with a solution.... put all of them on my website, then put a link! lol i dont know why i didn't think of that before.

Just my 2c, but I'm completely with vasquez on this. Limiting the postings to 1 per day would be a real improvement, IMO. S.

I suppose there's special occasions..like if you change your nic and want to repost your gallery (don't worry, I did a lot of pruning from nu-be..;). Last 2 pics I did were essentially the same scene, I was just trying to brighten it up and see which came out better.
'rosity just came up with this category/subcategory thing, so I suppose you could use that as a filter, and cut down on some of the chatter. I've only posted 2 in a day twice, so it wouldn't hurt too much. Gotta be careful, or we'll start the 'hot 20' debate alllllll over again...sigh..;)

Post only one of my fractals a day? Or have to choose between a fractal and a bryce? I wouldn't mind much if you could only post one thing to a particular gallery, but to limit the whole site to one a day or even 7 a week seems a bit confining. Just my 2c, and I do understand your frustration. Tres

I could be posting hundreds of crappy images a day??!!!?? Darn, and here I am not putting up a gallery so I don't bore too many people with my beginner pictures. Of course, I bore all of you, but I know how tolerant you all are. ;) Lin

funny, I brought up this subject over a year ago when it was beginning to look like things were getting out of control. That's why I restrain my postings, but that's just me. And even if I posted every single silly rendering that I do, I could barely exceed 7 a week.

Hmm, well I'm flat out getting an image out a month......

.... i still say delete the poser gallery.... Joking!!

I agree with some more stringent limits. It would force some of us to just spend a little more time on images rather than posting and hoping for accolades, not that i do that :). I can get plenty of garbage in at the rate of just one per day though :) the time in the limelight of the first page slot is very fleeting.. one per day should be plenty in almost all cases.

maybe 1 per day in a certain gallery, ie: u can post one in bryce, one in poser, and one in vue, if u want.

Mmm, that way might lead to some people placing images in galleries they don't belong, just to upload all the images they want. Just a thought.
