Subject: Too Controversial To Post..........

Hi guys, Wondering if you would do me the favour of visiting a site for me and giving me some comments on a pic. Due to controversy that's been caused by my posting a pic in the forum previously, the link is above rather than the pic. It's not dirty or anything, but the implied violence in it may be thought of as..... well, disturbing. So don't go there if you may be offended. There. That's the warning for the children. oh, and yes, I know it's not my main site. This is the Gothic Artist that has become my alter ego..... ;) When you hit the main page, choose gallery - it's the bottom picture, The Crucifixion of Anna. Like any graphics intensive site, it may take a couple of mins for all the thumbnails to load. Cheers! Mike

oooh! no wonder you speak about woman the way you do.. J/K. I think it is great. A bit gorey with the the stick in the eye thing but I think it is nice. I love your scale technique and sketch look.

Oh man..now he has an alter ego. You guys do know he's one life tragedy away from putting on spandex tights and running around fighting crime don't you? Interesting stuff Jordster. I particularly like Dark Faery, Dreams and Another. I think in the Crucifixion of Anna, the sticks/poles look too soft and a little smallish. Going too hard on them would make this way too gory (right now its somewhat like a dream). Somewhere in the middle would be less distracting to me. I also might take the one out of her eye - the pole going up into the neck suggests it's going deep into the head ... the eye thing doesn't look quite right to me (not a moral thing, visually). Any of that make sense? Recap, IMO, make the poles a little harder edged and a bit more substantial. And maybe see what it looks like without the one through the eye (I'd darken the inner eyes). -=>Donald

hmmm.... interesting point about the hardness, Don. I thought that at the time about the horizontal one, but it doesn't look right harder either...... as for the eye, I used a perspective filter to shift the perspective on both the poles and the image, and found it should actually come out of there. Actually, in the original I had to move the bottom of that pole to the left slightly because that was the bit that wasn't right! (",)

...er, thanks, Jordy, for giving us ample warning about this side of your personality.

2nd personality. Alter EGO ? of a Alter EGO. Dude have you seen profesional help regarding your TWO alter EGO's? I mean I understand the first one but the gothic one? What ever happend to simple pin up type art? ;-) OK I think it's alright but it's SOO dark and the swirly stuff kinda makes it hard to see. I'm not sure what you wanted. Also perhaps changing the color a tiny tad bit toward greyscale may make things better. Either that or changing the colors more toward the red shade. But that's just my opinion. Did you enter with anyone else to make this gothic style. Are we to explect a new picture of the dunking or rebirth to follow soon? Bsteph

Whoa man, IMPLIED violence? Ha! I would think this might be something from an Iraq torture chamber. But, I must admit, it's very powerful. Then again, so is a herd of stomping elephants. How about placing a butterfly landing on her head? Sort of a balance thing. Keep at it man, at least you're going somewhere, and that's what matters. But where? Guess we'll just have to wait....

Neat gallery, Jordy. Too bad I'm on a small screen, I can't see the entire image on the right, the scrollbars are turned off. (*

JordyArt ( ) posted Mon, 17 March 2003 at 12:57 PM

argh, sorry Stars, I'll sort that out. Thanks for that! Don, thanks a lot bud - you post one attempted humour comment and everyone thinks they've got to have a go..... Bsteph, tough! They look good tyo me, and I'm the artist, so there! And no, I didn't directly join with someone else (unless you call an alter ego someone else?), but I had a good point in the right direction from jrulier for the effect, and Cat did give up her picture for Electronica.... Guys, I was trying to be serious, and you all just ridicule me! sniff (",)

bsteph2069 ( ) posted Mon, 17 March 2003 at 7:34 PM

Actually I was serious except for the split personality part. BTW-You don't refer to yourself in therd person. For example if you say to yourself Jordy is talking to himself again you have problems. I would suggest lithium grease eating. =:-) Bsteph

Well I for one luv your work....(you KNOW that) but I did find Brians last sentence very amusing which is why I had to laugh...... Are we to explect a new picture of the dunking or rebirth to follow soon? That was funny.....

How do you do that wavy-squiggley effect? It's pretty cool!

cynlee ( ) posted Tue, 18 March 2003 at 1:19 AM

knew i shoulda gotten a bigger monitor... the webskin texture is looking better can't say i care much for chick on a stick still needs more of your own style, less jrulier but you're getting there the more you do, the more of yourself will emerge, hopefully that'll be a good thing :)

JordyArt ( ) posted Tue, 18 March 2003 at 12:44 PM

yeah - a few of the guys looked at my gallery today, and I got a bit of a ribbing for the "chick on a stick" (LOL!) - they think I'm a bit wierd now..... and to be honest, even though I enjoyed doing it, it didn't feel like my style, it felt more like an experiment. Pleased with it though. And all, thanks for your comments! (",)
