Great looking image so far!

Looks great! I used the same technique in some of my "ElectriCity" images. Wait... I'll post the terrain maps.

Here's the first one (I reduced the res to 640x640, but it would work good).

And here comes the second. (same as above) If you want to take a try, you're welcome. It's good for distant cityscapes, not for foreground buildings. Stefano

This is coming out way excellent. I've been following your build right along and think its a great idea. Very informative and I know I have picked up some new ideas along the way. When finished, you will have the makings of an excellent tutotial. Thanks for posting rj.

Here's a good tip for making quick cities: hold option/alt and use the posterize slider in the terrain editor.

Very nice, lindan! It seems a desert dwelling... never thought of doing it such close to the camera... great work, I'm glad you used it! :)

SevenOfEleven ( ) posted Thu, 20 March 2003 at 3:06 PM

this was a qiuk wip using your grey scale

Doublecrash ( ) posted Fri, 21 March 2003 at 4:58 AM

Cool! :)

I used the same greyscales on these pics:

Waiting

ElectriCity I - The Hero

It's a cool way to have masses of buildings without building them one by one.

Thanks a lot rj001 for pulling out this thread! :)
