Subject: The most beautiful V2 face I ever seen!

saur ( ) posted Tue, 18 March 2003 at 4:42 PM · edited Thu, 25 July 2024 at 6:11 AM

I was looking at the MP and I found "Pretty". The render is amazing! Do anybody has the model and work with her yet?

rockets ( ) posted Tue, 18 March 2003 at 5:09 PM

Yes, I have "Pretty" and she has become my favorite V2 character. She has the most beautiful eyes and the included face morphes are very easy to use...I LOVE her!

My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice!

Not intending to flame you - or anyone else here - but Pretty is very far from the most beautiful V2 face I've ever seen. Not a bad face, but definitely not the best... IMO. I really, really dislike the collagen/hare lip look of so many V2 characters, and this one is no exception. It is possible for a woman to be beautiful without looking like she's been smacked in the mouth. :)

hare lip? I knowing first hand from a family memeber having a "hare" lip that pretty's lip doesn't resemble one at all! Collagen lip yes, hare lip no! Not being nasty, just I've heard refrence before to hare lip, and I never see the resemblence in what they are talking about, and an actual hare lip.

Check Mint's gallery for at least one lovely "Pretty" image. I think there's more than one, actually...

Pokey, I think he meant "hare" as in rabbit, referring to the bulgy bit between the nose and lip... the condition you refer to is usually called "hair lip", I believe... No worries though. ^_^

In English, the condition is called "harelip", yes as in "hare", referring to the rabbit's split upper lip. The term is no longer used, with "cleft lip" being preferred. A cleft lip can be quite a shocking thing, and often times deforms more than the upper lip (such as the nose, gums and roof of the mouth).

Direct yourself here for examples.

I don't know why all this talk about lips is going on, but in MY opinion "Pretty" is not only pretty, but gorgeous and no I don't have any reason to promote her. This is just my opinion which, if I'm not mistaken, is what saur was asking about.

Valandar, Sorry to be pedantic, (or as I frequently tell my wife, it's not a case of me being pedantic, it's just that I'm usually right) but there is no such thing as hair lip. Hairy lip maybe - which I suffer from - but not hair lip. Hare lip (according to Encyclopaedia Britannica, 1973 edition)is a congenital deformity resulting from failure of certain tissues of the face to join properly during pre-natal development. It is associated in about 50% of cases with a cleft palate. Other references indicate that it occurs in about one in every 1,000 births,in either minor or major form. If the problem only occurs in the lip then there is a high success rate with surgery at 3 months old. With a cleft palate, however, surgery is harder and usually undertaken at about one year. This is not always successful and can result in speech defects later in life. If you ever get the opportunity to examine a hare's upper lip at close quarters (not easy because they run like hell, hence the expression, haring along) you will see that it has a vertical groove or cleft in its centre, and this is the effect after which the human birth disorder is named. I'm not aware of hares actually having a bulgy bit between nose and lip. By the way, I suspect that most hares would not be too happy at being likened to rabbits, and vice versa. How would you like being compared to a gorilla, or a baboon? Or indeed, vice versa? Maz PS. Don't take the last bit too seriously.

FishNose ( ) posted Thu, 20 March 2003 at 5:47 AM

Oh, I take the last bit very seriously. Baboons and gorillas are a lot better than humans, who only destroy and kill. So the comparison is unfair - to gorillas and baboons :o) People who don't like full lips/stylised lips and make a big fuss about it - get a life, OK? Same applies to breast size, etc. To each his own. :] Fish

Valandar ( ) posted Thu, 20 March 2003 at 5:58 AM

They're also better than Chimpanzees, who have been observed killing for sport... just like humans... And sorry, Maz, I was mistaken, as lhiannon had already pointed out. Note I said "I beleive", as I wasn't absolutely certain.

Perhaps the "pc" term would be a "Lagomorph Lip"? As a distinction between a medical deformity and an appearance which may or may not resemble the upper lip of a long eared rodent. And yeah, I call hares "rabbits" (sometimes bunnies). I call porpoises "dolphins" and tend to call great apes monkeys. And yes, I would take offense at being mistaken for a gorilla. For many, many reasons.
