Okies......I'm working on some html with the help of our own wonderful PunkClown, so that we may renew our monthly challenges. I'm asking you folks for ideas for the month of April as that is my target date to start back up....Please help me here! I can't do all of it alone....post your ideas, and once we get enough of them we can decide which one we should try. Much appreciated!

Artificial Lights No, not 'artificial light' but lightS - a picture that somehow includes an image of an artificially created light. A torchbeam cutting through the darkness, the brashness of the neons in the Red Light District.... anything with an artificial light source. (",)

Cat pictures! (ducking) I like Jordy's idea. Another is "things that are not as they seem". Any image that is a part of the whole to the point where it is possible to figure out what it is, but difficult at the same time. Alpha's glass and my snowdrift that were posted a while back for example. Magick Michael (peaking from behind the wall to make sure no one is still throwing things at the cat lover)

Hmm. What about singular repetition. Duplicate streetlamps on an empty street. Flatcars on trains. Sidewalks of parking meeters. Rows of mail boxes. Hotels with Coke machines on every floor. UPS or mail vehicles leaving the depot at the same hour. ect. Bsteph

More general subject/topics please! Let people think of their own project within the month's theme and post their idea and progress on the forum. No more 'lemme use that old shot I already had' kind of last minute entries from all those strangers :) And most of all, I could say 'groups of people' or something is a great topic, but someone else who lives in the middle of nowhere might think that wild animals are better to shoot. Know what I mean ?

Yups.....I'm with Rork on this one....we do need more general subjects so that people can use theirr own creativity to come up with something for the theme..... but that doesn't mean we can't twist what has already been suggested to suit our means. Something like this..... 1. Light 2. Pets (hmmm...not so sure about this one) 3. Abstraction 4. Repetetion Generalized and open to interpertation........and all very good subjects.....waiting for more ideas!

Oh the poor dear. Come here. Sit next to Donald...I've got crayons for you and everything. There there...it'll be ok. Somebody wanna get the dart gun out...and double the dosage this time. Oh yea...how about "Water" as a theme. :) -=>Donald

cynlee ( ) posted Thu, 20 March 2003 at 9:21 PM

oh, thanks Donald... k- let's see, just off the top of my head... 1. opposites attract: hard-soft black-white love-hate 2. images of sound: sometimes i view an image & can almost hear it 3. emotion: an image that portrays some extreme emotion 4. night vision: night photography, out of the darkness there! how's that? starts to color, humming to herself

Misha883 ( ) posted Thu, 20 March 2003 at 9:42 PM

Staying sane? You've got to be kidding? Hard/soft? That like limp/stiff? 'prolly not a good idea with this group.

cynlee ( ) posted Thu, 20 March 2003 at 9:51 PM

hey, you said it Misha! hehe, i see where your mind is how bout i rephrase that to- extreme contrasts of course i was kidding... or was i? :D

brholte ( ) posted Thu, 20 March 2003 at 10:45 PM

how about a photo, that when flipped upside-down, resembles a different image.... I hope this makes sense to you all.

firestorm ( ) posted Fri, 21 March 2003 at 1:01 AM

i like cyns' idea of the opposites/contrasts...i think i'll stay away from hard/soft though...lol

Pictures appear to me, I shoot them.   Elliot Erwitt

delboyo ( ) posted Fri, 21 March 2003 at 5:59 AM

what about anything going rusty?

Michelle A. ( ) posted Fri, 21 March 2003 at 9:52 AM

Kewlness (as Jovan would say)! Here's what we have so far: 1. Light 2. Pets (hmmm...not so sure about this one) 3. Abstraction 4. Repetetion 5. Water 6. Opposites 7. Sound (this one would be tough me thinks) 8. Emotion 9. Night 10. Movement 11. Rust....which is probably a a bit too specific, but we can work with it. Lots to think about here!

I am, therefore I create.......
