I've always used IrfanView (free) for file browsing and file conversion, but I don't think it opens Adobe Illustrator files... You may want to take a look at Lightbox for browsing your ".ai" files. Not sure if it'll convert for you...
Or you can try "WhereIsIt" (they have a free "lite" version).

NO,you don,t have to open and save 6000 files.... Go to the locating where your files are(or browes with the open dialogue window in your program). Click on the view menu. Select thumbnail. Look at your files as thumbnails. That's It. I only told you about the resave in the event one or two did not show....but that should be a rare case. You will need to do this each time you go to your files,as you don't have "view thumbnails' set as default in your Windows. Not much else I can tell you. SWAMP

Hello I need a small program to preview Illustrator files. I have hundreds of files and it's very hard to keep track of them. Does such a program exits ? Freeware would be fine. OR Is it possible to convert .AI files into JPG or GIF as a batch process ? To generate preview of the files in this way.
