Subject: Poser-ready sci fi products

I see a lot of great looking Bryce and 3DS/Max sci-fi models, but I'd be more inclined to buy poser-ready sci-fi products. I'm thinking specifically of highly detailed spaceships and mech tanks. I have purchased most of the poser-ready items currently in the MP that fit this bill. There are some great ones in the MP, but there's not a whole lot to choose from at this time. Anyone interested? Thanks, Ram

There are a LOT of 3ds spaceships out for free on the web, lots of Sci-Fi show and movie ships also. These can be imported into poser fairly easily, retextured or textured with the use of UVMapper freebie. I too look at the various MP's and see a lack of Sci-Fi scenes, ships and worlds to explore. I guess it just depends on what your looking for specifically. Post scetchs, drawings, give details and I'm sure someone will help out. btw max n lightwave models can be converted to obj files and imported into Poser, so don't rule out something you've seen and like just cause it's for a specific app, talk to the seller and see if they can save the obj for you, or if you can buy the obj file. Bryce on the other hand can't be converted unfortunately. oh well my 2 cents.

You have seen the Poser-ready vehicles from Imagination Works, right?

Like the SS3 Magellan (a complete starship with interior sets), space shuttle (resembles the dropship from Aliens), VTOL craft, transforming mecha, and powered exosuits?

They're a bit more expensive than your typical Poser goods, but they look excellent.

Thanks for the tip, Machineclaw. Little Dragon, I was not aware of Imagination Works. That's exactly what I was looking for! The Megallan looks fantastic! Time to save up some pennies. Lots of very cool sci-fi goodies there. Thanks guys, ram

For interior sets, you might want to check out www.beyondbent.com. Traveler has some at runtimeDNA.com and Moebius87 has some nice looking stuff here at Rendo. Moebius87 also makes some nice military ground vehicles but I don't know if he plans to make any of them available to the general public. Check out his gallery to see some of the great stuff he makes.

Or how about This? Look for them in the marketplace. They'll be textured by next month. Except for dewey, Hees freestuff!

Thanks Ajax. Yeah, Davo's stuff is awesome - I've got just about every sci-fi thing he's made. I grabbed Moebius87's Antares and Traveler's freebies at RDNA. Lalverson's AFA sci-fi sets are very cool also. Those models look great, Electroglyph. I'll grab Dewey. The core prop looks real cool! I'll keep an eye out for it in the marketplace. Ram

I'm glad you put this in the wishlist, as I had started building a Poser-ready little ship, but wasn't sure if there would be adequate demand for it.....still not 100% sure about it yet....
