Subject: Last question for now. I swear! :)

I'm trying to make hair, but not just any hair. A character I'm working on will only have bits of hair dangling down, with most of her head bald. Now I've never made hair, and none of the tutorials on it seem to be working (aside from how to enhance hair in photoshop), so if someone could point me in the direction of some others that aren't listed, and/or give me some pointers, I'd be berry berry happy. Thanks.

Did you check kozaburo's great hair tutorial?! If you're a sceptic, then check his "Real Ponytail"... http://www.vowel.or.jp/~kozaburo/

Hmm. Perhaps it'll help to show what I'm trying to do (though that tutorial seems really good). Here are a couple images of the character: http://www.twisted.org.uk/tg/pix/tgXhm.gif http://www.twisted.org.uk/tg/pix/sew.jpg

You could just try THORNE's way. If you D/L his "mikki": the front piece of her hair is seperate("Bangs")... or you can check Xtinction's gallery: he uses it on his "MISFIT" character, which by the way, he "Graciously" made available in frestuff section... Hope this helps!! Marc

I found a couple pictures of Misfit, but that was all. I've searched the whole site and can't find any of those downloads. Am I just looking in the wrong places? (Damn, I am SUCH a newbie. heehee) G.

Whoa!! I'm at a lost here! I can't seem to find the "Misfit" character... I missed something in the "Threads"! Well, you can check Thorne's site(Listed on the right-->) Think you can find his "Bangs" prop, or try to D/L his "Sophie Buquet" Feary(Should have it with her) Sophie---> http://www.thorneworks.com/index1.html

I have made some punk girl hair by y-axis transformation and/or y-axis scaling to place most of the hair inside the figures head with just locks emerging... for locks in front I have y-axis rotated the longer back over to the front side. I haven't tried this, but maybe if you used the Zgote posable curls hair that comes as a "prop" in P4 you could unclick "visible" in the properties of some of the elements of which it is composed. BTW I have a shaved "no eyebrows" morph up in Free Stuff, just dial in the morph and set the eyebrow to fleshtone in Render/Materials.

The mohawk on the thumbnail to my "no eyebrows" morph was done by x-scaling one of the standard hairs. You can get some other punk effects by combining the the scaling and trans with scaled male hair to get the short hair with long locks in front and for two toned looks. You take the one of the Poser hairs you want to use and export it as a Wavefront .obj, then you can import it back in to Poser and superimpose it on a second hair added to the figure. And look at Traveler's Male to Female hair conversions.
