For a change had a bit of time to kill before work. Decided this might be a good time to try my new toy on the great outdoors. Basically was just trying to capture the quiet of the yard. Looking back, I wish I had gotten a higher angle on this to catch the tracks converging. Guess that's another shot for another day. Shot it with a rb67, 90mm @ f16 @ 1/125 with fuji nps 160. Desaturated it and adjusted the levels a bit in photoshop . Nuff said, I guess. Tear it apart as you will. That's what it's here for. Doug :)

Ooooh! And you caught a whole flock of them higing in the fog! I do like the muted tones you get in the fog. The long horizontal crop is perfect. Think you should post the color version just for comparison; but I'll 'prolly like the B&W. Not sure about the power lines. In a way, they do add to the atmosphere of the train yard. RB67!!! Nice machine! Heavy. But nice.

Wasn't thinking at all was I? Well it is Monday after all. *L* Here's some color added in, or rather left in. I couldn't decide whether to take out the power lines or leave them and since I was feeling lazy, and in a hurry to get to ebay (looking for a new lens for the new toy) I left them. And I love the RB Misha, true a bit heavy, but sure am glad I finally broke down and got one.

I say leave the color out. BUT I would also suggest sharpening the one to the left a lot and gradually decrease the sharpening as one proceeds to the right - maybe. But definitely sharpen the one to the left. OH aht ehere is this weird dark band which shows up 1/3 down from the top. Bsteph

i like the b&w picture - the subject, the hazyness and the composition is very appealing

Pictures appear to me, I shoot them.   Elliot Erwitt

Outstanding shot! Agreed, b&w is the way to go with this. Looks like the western version of where I'm at now. Now if it'd only fog over a little more here...

I often prefer color, but here the B&W one is the most interresting. I like the fog that can create mystery of common trains.
