Subject: creating magna characters

FinalFantasy7Fan ( ) posted Wed, 26 March 2003 at 12:33 AM ยท edited Wed, 31 July 2024 at 2:01 PM

Hi... I am still fairly new to poser, every now and then I play around with Poser. However, I do not know how to make my own clothes or characters, and there are 4 characters from my favourite magna that I would like to try to create for Poser 4. How would I go off making their faces, and then the hair? Any help would be very helpful!!

A few options: 1. Use a 3D modeling app to make your own manga morph targets 2. Search around here and elsewhere around the net for morphs that others have already made, making sure you are aware of their usage restrictions 3. Use magnets and dials already on the Poser figure you're using All three of these can be combined as you need. Also, you might want to check Animotions -- I think it's www.animotions.com -- seems like I remember them having some nice FF characters already made over there. :-)

I've got Barret, Tifa, Cloud and Red already done, stopped in the middle of Sephiroth, who knows, might try again. You might need to download some other items too before opening the file so read the read me first!

Oh, and you might find this link helpful, it's to a translated version of Motsura's Posermania. Lots of manga characters and not only, make sure you try all the links on the left, I think the manga characters are mostly under Comic Head or sth like that. But be aware that some adjustments might need to be made by you since they're done on a Japanese version of Poser, they all do work though.

If you're working on female characters, you might also find justfit's site, Play with Poser, interesting.

Those characters of Jon's are exactly the ones I was thinking of... sorry about the misdirection. Jon has lots of really, really great characters at his site. Animotions will still probably be worth your time, seeing as how you are new to Poser :-)
