You can now attach text files to your posts to pass around scripts. Just attach the script as a txt file like you would a jpg or gif. Since the forum will use a random name for the file in the link, you should give instructions on what the file name should be and where to install it. Its a good idea to usually put that info right in the script file as well.

Hmm. I hadn't noticed those before. (And it's a good thing I hadn't, because I've been "reinventing" some of those functions from a different angle; if I knew they already existed, I wouldn't have bothered to create them.) Looks like the creator hasn't been active in this realm for about two years. His own website, and his Daz stuff, both seem to stop around 4/01. Converting for P5 generally involves a couple of standard steps, but those steps have to be done in the PY form (readable text), not the PYC form; and commercial scripts are usually distributed in PYC form. There are decompilers available in the Python world......

I am still alive (been busy with school), thank you for the purchase and good words :-) I don't have plans to adapt MKParticles to Poser 5 at the moment, but I might have time to do some updates for it this summer. I'm releasing a new Python script bundle for P4Pro and P5 in mid-April--PoseWorks PowerDials and Python Manager. PowerDials allows you to do some advanced work with parameter dials within Poser, letting you use mathematical functions (like trigonometry, logarithms, addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, and exponents) as well as variables and other parameter dials in the scene all instead of plain numbers. Python Manager is a new interface for loading and managing your Python scripts that should be quite a bit faster and more intuitive than the traditional Python Scripts Window. (If I do end up updating Particles this summer, I promise I'll throw in some extra goodies :-)
Glad to hear you are still with us. The PowerDials sound interesting (and complicated ;-)). The Python Manager sound like something I might kill for.... An update for the particles would be dearly appreciated, but I do understand the constraints of time and ambition. Will try to do something cool with Particles and either win a contest of get lots of people to see it in the gallery... maybe can drum up some business and boost your ambitions ;-) best, e.d.
