I am leaving for Florida tomorrow morning, and I am gonna~ be gone for a week.... I have a Bryce image that I would like to render poster size while I will be away to utilize this "free" time on my computer.... What would be the right pixel size in Bryce to make a good resolution for this size.... I need to know this as soon as possible...!!! When I get back I will be asking how I can get my image printed poster size and full color.... There has got to be a company that has a reasonable price for this...??? Thanx~, Don

That depends on the resolution in DPI (Dots per inch) you want in your final print. You can use 1 DOT = 1 PIXEL. so if you want a 20 inch by 30 inch poster at 300 DPI your image size in Poser should be 6000 by 9000 pixels. Good luck with your render. That's a real nice image btw. and it would make a great poster... Walter

P.S. That gonna' be one huge file. A 24 bit RGB 6000 x 9000 image at 300 DPI would be more than 150 MB (that's MEGA BYTES like in million)... Walter

150 megs isn't that unusual a size in large scale graphics work. A lot of work in mural and billboard work gets into gig size

A few of the pictures I recently uploaded were in the 3000x2000 pixel range at 150 dpi originally. I found the the most reasonably priced place to print them was Kinkos - they have a large format HP printer the will print up 34" x 9'. A 32"x26" print should cost around $40.00, and the output is surprisingly good.

Thanx~ very much for your input on this...!!! I just got back from Florida yesterday, and it was not done rendering till this afternoon.... I renedered it at 3333x5000 pixels and it took 8 whole days on my 450mhz computer with 160megs of ram..... My computer was pissed that I got to go on vacation but it didn't...! Kinko's is gonna~ be able to print it, I just gotta~ burn it onto a CD and take it there....!! Thanx~ again for the help...!! Don
