Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 28 6:42 am)
1st make sure disk is defragged and you have plenty of harddisk available for paging (virtual mem), 2nd get rid of fonts that are not used (for psp or any program that uses fonts actually), 3rdly if poser continues to be problem - is probably because of time it takes to load your libraries..... got junk that needs to be cleaned? Also, on your general preferences, do you have a default character that is compressed? That really slowed me down when I put V3 as my new default. So now I just open a plain empty window on my set preference. Good luck!

Just purchased Poser4 3 weeks ago. Followed install instructions to theletter - closed all except Systray and Explorer. Install was successful and program operates well except that on File>open or File>close there is a 15 or 20 second "hang" before it recovers. After the hang I can open a file etc with no problem. Install log reports that the install was successfully completed.
The same problem now exists with Painter 5. Have uninstalled and reinstalled both programs with no change
Would appreciate knowing if anyone has had a similar problem or can suggest what might be the problem
System is Athlon 1.4 GHZ, 512 MB Ram, 40GB AT A-100 HD, Asus V7100Pro MX-400 GEForce2 Video Card, Wacom UD1212 tablet, CDRW, Epson scanner, Epson C80 Printer, Iomega Zip drive.
