Doublecrash ( ) posted Thu, 03 April 2003 at 7:49 PM

Aw... and I was thinking... no, ok, just kidding :) Personally, I spend all the spare money I have to buy software, but I don't think you will have problems selling the models if they're good. S.

By the way, anyone knows where I can find a free model of a Plymouth Fury? It's a long time I want to do a "Christine" pic... S.

Jaymonjay ( ) posted Thu, 03 April 2003 at 8:27 PM

Ooooo... 1958 Plymouth Fury... candle-apple red... 350 with dual four-barrels under the hood... I've tried finding one DC, but no joy.

Yep, Jay, it's months that I'm searching for one... :( If I remember well, in the King's novel the color was "Autumn Red"... but I'm not sure. S.

ocddoug ( ) posted Thu, 03 April 2003 at 10:11 PM

Good car models for 5, 10 bucks? I think you'd sell a lot of them.

antevark ( ) posted Thu, 03 April 2003 at 10:12 PM

hey, what is everybodies fave king novel? mine's the stand, for the record

Jaymonjay ( ) posted Thu, 03 April 2003 at 10:21 PM

Ante.... The Stand rocks! Wait a sec.... think I feel a sniffle coming on.... Roch... thought I saw a GS online somewhere. Lemme see if I can find it for you. One of these days I'll do a render with the other half of the collection (the Ferrari's Lambo, Astons, etc.) The pic above is my dream garage. :)

Rochr ( ) posted Thu, 03 April 2003 at 10:45 PM

5-10 sounds like a good price for a model! Try putting them up and see how it turns out! Pet Sematary, but only because the cat is so cute...

The Stand was one of his best for sure. I also loved The Running Man and The Dark Tower (the first one).

If you model the cars outside bryce you could also make a poser-compatible version or an OBJ version. Those sell better then bryce-only products.

I never read fiction.

Carrie, Pet Sematary (the novel, not the mess of a movie).

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

I begun my writing career in writing essays on Stephen King's work, LOL. Here in Italy nobody knew him at the time... but I have to say that I've been disappointed by his last "From a Buick 8", it's his first book ever that I took over one week to finish... among my favs are surely "The Stand" (IMO the best one, specially the uncut version), "Dark Tower I, II and III", "It" and "Christine". He scared the hell outta me, sometimes :) S.

Incarnadine ( ) posted Fri, 04 April 2003 at 11:52 AM

$5/10 yeah, even I, notorious cheapskate that I am might go for that! (always did want a Volvo S70 with spoiler)(grin). Please go for it!

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

catlin_mc ( ) posted Fri, 04 April 2003 at 1:29 PM

All Stephen King novels, but my particular favs are The Stand and It. The first one I ever read was Thinner, after that I was hooked. Catlin

Roch222 ( ) posted Fri, 04 April 2003 at 4:12 PM

wait I did muddle through a king book that was actually pretty damn good! Remember "salems Lot" roch222

antevark ( ) posted Fri, 04 April 2003 at 4:18 PM

well, i think The Stand might be the next one you should try, roch. the uncut version - the only one worth getting(GO TRASHCANMAN) is a bit long, tho(over a thousand pages). pet sematary was the first i ever got, i had to read it ll thru the night, then it scared the living sh!t outta me at 3 in the morning. for a lighter read, try Night Shift or Everythings Eventual. Those are the 2 books of short stories he's written that i kno of. Night Shift's the better one of those 2.

Doublecrash ( ) posted Fri, 04 April 2003 at 4:49 PM

Another short story collection of SK is "Skeleton Crew". Not bad, either. But really, going for "shorter", the best IMO are "Different Seasons" (with the beautiful "The Body", from which Rob Reiner adapted the movie "Stand by me") or another collection of four short novels, "Four Past Midnight", where you can find the whooooaaaaa "The Langoliers" (great read indeed). :)

Doublecrash ( ) posted Fri, 04 April 2003 at 4:51 PM

Ah, yes, and in "Different Seasons" there is also another beautiful story, "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption", from which it was filmed the movie... er, dunno the English title, only the Italian one. Tim Robbins in a federal prison... someone remember it? S.

Roch222 ( ) posted Fri, 04 April 2003 at 8:01 PM

Uhhh, I was pondering something similar about car models (and other items as well)... Would this one be worth $5? Just something I put together in Wings3D. This car is my latest attempt at working out a car design. It's not really based on anything that I know of. However, the wheels on it are based on a real car (2001 Grand Am.) Yeah, it seems funny having Pontiac rims on something that resembles an import. LOL. Now if I could figure out a little bit more about getting the geometry to mesh together for curved headlight shapes, then I just might get interested in modeling the rest of my real car. :)
