I just installed the free Metacreations Poser 3 that came with issue 37 of 3D World. When I try to run it, I get the out of memory error and I have over a Gig of RAM is there a fix for it? I tried the CL 3.01 update but it said its already patched. I 'm using XP and tried all the different compatibility modes and still no go...

That's the all-purpose error message and usually means that Poser can't find the geometry file for the default character. You might wanna reinstall and see if that helps.

I bought issue 32 to get the free Lightwave demo for Mac. It never did work.

I cant get poser itself to open. I'm not trying to load a figure or anything, just trying to load poser. But I read at PoserPros that I may have too much RAM for it. I got the Lightwave DE issue too and it seemed to work fine for me, tho I've since uninstalled it. I am on a PC tho so it might be a bad mac installer file or something.

I would get that error too. I turned my virtual ram down to under 512mb and it would run. There is a patch for version 4 but I'm not sure about 3

Jerr3d, I had the same problem, the Mac installer was faulty. I emaoed them about it and they sent me a new CD in the post. It works great, REALLY complicated app though! Baz

I couldn't even get the disk to run that came with my copy. According to my computer, the disc is empty.

UPDATED: Problems with issue 37 CD

Several readers have reported difficulties in running the first cover CD from issue 37 (containing Softimage|XSI EXP and the motion capture files) on a PC. This is due to a disc fault, and we are now in the process of having a batch of replacement CDs duplicated. These should be in place by the time the issue goes on sale outside the UK, and will also be mailed out free of charge to subscribers. If you have bought a copy of issue 37 with a faulty CD from a UK newsagent or bookstore, please click here to obtain your free replacement disc.

STOP PRESS: We have now discovered a way of getting the original faulty CDs to run on a PC. This requires you to download and install a small piece of freeware. If you'd rather wait for a replacement disc, fill out the order form above. Otherwise, the software and instructions can be found here.

lol I was just gonna come in here and say something about the CD. Issue 37 is a double CD issue and the one with Poser worked, the other one wouldnt read. I have a sub so I guess I'll another one but I'm gonna try that fix. I'll try dropping my virtual mem and see if that fixes the Poser 3 issue. thanks for the info and help...

Yes it has Vicky 1 LoRes. I got the lores Vicky from Daz and this has a different name and obj file. The one from Daz is called Victoria 1 Lo Res and the obj file is blMilWomLo.obj. The 3D World one is called Victoria 1 RR and the obj file is blMilWomLoNG.obj. Also I Downloaded that fix for the CD and it worked and I dropped my virtual mem to 500 and P3 is working :)
