Subject: What to do if any of my models causes "I can't find the .OBJ file"

If the model's readme file says that the geometry file (e.g. qwertyuiop.obj ) should go in ...aa... , it should go in ...Poser4aa... , not in
...Poser4RuntimeGeometriesaa... or whatever. Where "...Poser4" means the main directory/folder of wherever your Poser is.

All OBJ (geometry)files go inside the Geometries folder, just make a folder inside he Geometries folder with the name indicated by the artist.

Ask me a question, and I'll give you an answer.

You can put the OBJ file anywhere you want....I put the OBJ file in the same folder as the prop/figure whatever, along with the textures too...then I edit the obj path in the cr2 or pp2, whatever....that way I have all the needed parts in one place and don't have to go hunting for them....really comes in handy when I want to delete something...:>)

I've actually tried that, and what I usually get is no character, or prop, that is why I put things where they belong as indicated by the manual. Objs in Geometries, Cr2s in Character files and so on.

Ask me a question, and I'll give you an answer.

I use to edit AA's CR2's and move the obj files to conform with Poser's conventions, but I've downloaded so much of his work over the years that I finally gave in. ;-)

I put my stuff in a separate main folder under ...Poser4... because when I was working on my models I got tired of ferreting for them through several big folders before I found my stuff. I am not the only person to do that. Recently someone made a Poser model of a wartime German soldier called Herman and put his geometry under a separate main folder ...Poser4herman . To Nance: what pictures have you made with my models in?

You could always move the OBJ files to GeometriesAA when everything else was done and adjust the two references in the CR2, though it's easy enough for us to do ourselves.

i believe that the capitalization makes a difference on folder names under poser4/runtime/geometries - doesnt it?
