how do i import items or objects i built in other 3d programs into bryce? I know import but do i import through the object window under create? and what should i save my file as to import into bryce in obj. didn't work and seems the must obvious. Please help. thanks

To import a model go to File>Import object, and that should be it. You can save in from another app in .obj or .3ds and Bryce can open them no problem, usually. Catlin

I've also done .dxf. Somewhere in the manual is a listing of all the formats that can be imported..appendix? I'd have to go into the garage and dig down to the Pre-Cambrian layer to find it..;)

No need to dig to the Precambrian - to find out what Bryce imports/exports just open the Bryce Plugin folder and the object/graphics formats supported are the first 3 or 4 letters of each plug. Best; Dan

also if you import an obj, copies of the texture files it refers to (ie. jpg ,bmp etc.)should also be in the same directory as the obj file.

plus, you can resolve much importing problems (specially with poser) using a wonderful free tool, Grouper. I'll never cease to praise it, because has solved so much problems for me! I think you can find it in the freestuff. Stefano
