Subject: Has anyone every had an imported pz3 model fall in a heap?

I just got a couple full updates for my Vue 4.01.. I got the 4.1 (I remember gebe saying that was a good one) and I got the 4.12 (the full ones).... while I think about what I want to try after getting new ram... I do have another question I have never seen addressed... and just curious. When I import a figure from poser via the pz3 import option and "drop to floor or ground" most of the time it sits right down on the ground. But once in a while if I have been moving it and resizing it a lot, I hit the drop and it kind of 'crumbles all in a pile'. At that point I hit 'undo' and the model comes back up, BUT now it has "seams" where all the body parts are! I must then delete the model and import a clean copy, so it is 'whole' again. Has anyone had this happen? Lyne

Any grouped object will do that is it is not grouped or it's grouped improperly so group it properly before the drop will fix it.

I said that Vue 4.12 is a good one, even the best one:-)

Thanks Pete .. that is a thought..since Poser 4 has a problem with it's exported groups..and maybe a pz3 is not grouped into one group at all! Thanks Gebe...makes a note 4.12 is best! :) Lyne

Oh yes - me too. So, because I*m rather lazy I allways save the model as a .vob file right after importing it. It makes it easier to start over if it sort of piles up on you! :-)

I've never had that happen, but yesterday on the image of the women in the stream, one of the figures kept losing it's head when I dropped it! Thankfully, the "undo" worked. Very strange, the head didn't appear to go anywhere else, it just disappeared. And yes, Guitta, I have 4.12. shrugs The mysteries of Vue...

Just group the whole person as a new group and it will stop. Obviously the head was not referanced to the rest of the mesh. Don't ya just hate when you lose your head ! Whole new meaning to face off in the corner.....

ROFL!! Good suggestions all around! group the whole thing once it is imported or save model as a vob! When I know I am going to be moving the object(s) around a lot this it's good to know! I will install the 4.12 update...and want to install it BEFORE I get the new additional ram... so I can see what this does by itself! Wish me luck! :)) Lyne
