Subject: The little chiwawa doggie from Daz gunna be released?

MachineClaw ( ) posted Mon, 07 April 2003 at 1:38 PM · edited Sun, 12 January 2025 at 7:43 AM

I remember there was a promo shot for a Daz product that had a little doggie chiwawa thingy in it. Did that get released somewhere? Still in the works? Anybody know where I can get a shitsu or a Bejeon dog model? (Spelling is off, yes I am aware of this, please be kind)

If you do find a Shih Tzu model I might be able to get some decent textures for it, I have the real thing if I can keep her still long enough to take the photos :)

Also there was a cat mentioned. Last I heard was that Anton (PheonixRising) was working on it, but paused his work to learn some more tricks in Lightwave to make it have more options. But this is from memory and I am unsure.

If your memory is unsure, than mine is too, because I remember the chihuahua in the promo shot and the cat that Anton was working on ;o). Laurie

The promo shot was from Silverlief [sp] Studios for the Sophisticates and they said yes they were working on a chihuahua. Amd Anton said the cat was coming along but was tough. Since cats seem to bend Everywhere, I can imagine it is tough. Someone else mentioned a possibility of a small dog/cat morph like two in one, and Anton just laughed. so maybe yes, maybe no, but shorthaired cat and chihuahua are definetly in our future. Probably.:)) From what I saw of the chi, it looked possible to do a Bijon Frise from it-- might have to have hair pieces.LOL. I dont know if a ShihTsu is a short nosed dog or not. I have a chi/peke mix who is part short nose, looks like a King Charles. I've never seen a satisfactory short nose dog morph. But I'm picky. Emily

queri: a ShihTsu has an almost flat face (one of those dogs with a spiral nasal canal like a pug). So it has a REAL short nose ;o). And they are one of those that are so furry you almost can't see their eyes. Used to have one once upon a time. The little guy in the pic looks just like mine did. I've seen some that have longer, straighter hair. Laurie

I think they are still trying to fish it back out of the Sea Dragon's gullet? Shihtsus bring back expensive memories for me. When I was a teenager my reticulated python got loose (from my room that is, he always roamed free) and ate one of my mother's two new Shihtsu puppies....darn thing cost me $300 to replace back in the 70's. I'd hate to hear what they go for today, what with the increase in price of mice and rats!

OH! Poor puppy!!! :o( Cool snake...LOL ;o) Laurie

MachineClaw ( ) posted Mon, 07 April 2003 at 5:33 PM

OH MY GEWD! Your mom still talk to you? ewwwwww grossed me out.

igohigh ( ) posted Mon, 07 April 2003 at 5:59 PM

MachineClaw; she still talks to me but she NEVER let me forget it. Actually my mother would leave all my washed clothes in the hall as she refused to enter my room after finding I kept a mountain kingsnake in my sock drawer =:o LaurieA; the snake's name, oddly enough, was Lucky. I don't know if that was because of the very expensive taste he had, or because the two of us lived after what he had done? (actually he adopted that name after I started winning blue ribbons with him at local shows through a herp club I belonged to) Anyway, poor Lucky and his friends are gone now :( had to sell them when I joined the Army in 1981. Now I find a single Cuban Iguana enough to care for...AND he's a vegitarian too, so no more $300 snaks ;D

Does anyone know that it is actualy "Chihuahua" the original name...(the pronuntiation is the same)... Ascii

PheonixRising ( ) posted Mon, 07 April 2003 at 6:44 PM

Meerilyn Ellison of Silverleif Studios was the one who was making the dog and used it in the image. You might want to contact her for more info. Hope that helps. Anton

I hear the DAZ Morphing Cube makes a great dog! Diane

LaurieA ( ) posted Mon, 07 April 2003 at 9:02 PM

Asciicodeplus: yes, it's been spelled correctly since post number 4. Doesn't matter really tho since we all knew what MachineClaw was talking about ;o). Good spelling on the web is a rare thing, especially among men where in general it's a rare thing...ducks and runs!!! LMAO. Just teasin' ;o) Laurie

LOL Laurie I'm a stickler for spelling mistakes myself and it drives my boyfriend nuts, they just don't get it do they? g

Did you guys know every year 4 people are eaten by their pet snakes? Just thought I'd share, I like snakes personally. ;)

Someone had mentioned a while back that there was a chihuahua on the Animal Kingdom CD from Dedicated Digital, but I can't confirm that as they don't have a list of the contents on their site. As far as dogs and cats go... I haven't seen any smaller breed morphs, but Lyne has made some beautiful dog morphs (free at Planit3D) as well as some maps that make the Poser 4 cat much nicer looking until the millennium cat's available. :) Has anyone heard if she's going to make other dog morphs? Perhaps she'd work on some of the littler ones in the future if we ask nicely!
