Just in case my rant about Poser 5 seemed unreasonable, here is a dresser I made today using Poser 4 imported into Poser 5 with correctly opening drawers and doors. I just can't manage to produce such a model using Poser 5. Here is a list of problems with my Poser 5: Program features and controls sometimes work, sometimes don't. Models I've created end up in the P5 figures library with pieces missing, even though they are listed as visible. All obj's I've imported using Phi Builder have their normals reversed, so I no longer use that software. The pallete control to allow bending is sometimes there, and sometimes not. I've downloaded all updates to Poser 5 but I'm still having problems, the software seems at times rather unstable. Poser 4 on the other hand is brilliant!

Well zippy I totally agree, I have the very same problems with our stuff in Poser 5, but this cabinet looks great. Although when I reverse the normals in UV mapper and use Phi Builder all works great in Poser 5, but I have to reverse the normals first in UV. Sharen

I have MAT files that stop working after 2 or 3 uses. :( I went nuts trying to figure out what was wrong in my MAT files, but I loaded them into P4 and they worked just fine. I wasted over an hour trying to troubleshoot my files before I loaded them in P4, only to see them work perfectly every time! I then tried other MAT files and they didn't work consistantly, either. Yes, I'm on the latest crutch ... patch. Really nice cabinet, by the way. It looks a lot like ones I've seen for sale in furniture stores.

Thank you all for your helpful replies. Glad I'm not alone with problems with Poser 5. By the way, reversing the normals in UV mapper doesn't cure the problem for me. This dresser will soon be up for grabs in the freebies section with some other cottage furniture items I've made. Maybe I shouldn't get cross with Curious Labs as they must have put a lot of work into Poser 5, but it is a great pity that it seems so unstable and we all know that Poser 4 works so wonderfully well....However, the manuals are still not user friendly.

wow...FREE ???? that looks like a great sale piece..especially if you have more to go with it.
