I have Polytrans for Windows. It's a model translater. I don't believe it translates 3dmf models tho. I don't know of any programs that do right off hand. Since it's made with a program, and saved in that program's proprietary format, it's likely it won't translate, because the program probably has a function to export the model in other formats. I can't recall the site right off hand, but there's a site on the net that offers models of great buildings of the world. You might see if you can find that. Try going to um, www.3dlinks.com and looking at the free model links and see if they have it listed there. I'm sure they probably have some greek buildings among the many they offer

Goto www.xdsoft.com and they have an updated free 3d model viewer that can view and convert that 3dmf into a lot of other formats.

Marina, Bryce versions 3 through 4 should import 3dmf files, under the edit>import object menu.

Do atleast one thing a day that scares the hell outta ya!!

Bryce cannot read or import 3dmf files. I guess there are different file types under that standard. I'm downloading 3dexplorer from xdsoft, so we'll see if it works (thanks archlite). Polytrans and Design Workshop are the only other programs I know of that will export 3dmf files, and Polytrans is expensive. Keep in mind that 3dmf is a Mac file standard, and Windows does not do a good job handling it.

Well, I tried 3d Explorer on about a half dozen 3dmf files from www.greatbuildings.com and it did not convert a single one. I tried to go from 3dmf to wavefront obj. Didn't work. So, either I am doing something wrong or the latest version still cannot handle 3dmf files. Ihawk, did you get it to work?
