Hi there everyone. I spent quite a while on this package, thinking mostly to use it for my own renders, then got the crazy idea to offer it for sale here on Rosity before actually seeing if anyone was interested in this type of armor. There are many things I've wanted to do with the surface and textures, but so far it seems that I should spend my time on other projects. The figure on the left side is the one, and I even have made double axes for him now. I've done a few poses, and want to make some bvh files also. Anyway, just thought I would try for some feedback. Thanks

You know I would try to sell it here, why? Why not? I tell you there are so many talented creators here it always amazes me how good our store is. The marketplace at Renderosity has really quality work and I think yours would rank very high. I think you did a wonderful job. Ask the staff at the store, but I am sure they will agree. Maybe you should start your little store here and see how it does. I am glad that we have the talent that we do here, and I don't think I have ever been disappointed in anything I bought here. Well, thank you, but see the thing is, this product is already available here, and so far no takers. Over at 3D Commune, there have been a couple hundred page hits of people looking at it but...... So I don't know if it's just buried with so many other items, or because I haven't done anything else to it. I don't want to spend any more time on it now because of that. It seems that if I'm not making clothes for Vicky or photoreal textures, that I can't compete. Maye I should make a sexy Vicky character wearing this armor instead, and it might sell. But thanks for the comment anyway.

It seems your armour is very stylized to the point of seeming to be only able to be used in a very limited number of fantasy style images. Plus it could stand with a texture map upgrade, perhaps making the horn elements actually resemble horns, and the armour more like metal. A variety of different ornamental etchings on the armour wouldnt hurt. Simply making it more versitile in this way, could go a long way to boosting sales. Right now it seems (no offence meant) very simple...and as such, people may then move on to the next "more ornate" offering. (mind you this is based on the link to the image you provided...I have not seen your marketplace pictures)

for me it's too basic. a horn on/off option would add to it and give it more versitility. the price seems a bit high, though I don't know what other similar armor packs go for so I could be off. different texture options could help too. the ear muffs attached to the helmet seem really odd and since the pack is only a few items for the armor this may be a reason for people not buying it. could also be the time, april around tax time sales in the real world slow down (USA tax season april 14th time). there is also some armour the is ornate and full body with multiple textures and it's in freestuff, so your competion is stiff for a stylized pack. or I could be way off and blowing smoke. my 2 cents.

I possibly should have had more varied renders. The horns can be made invisible, as well as the flaps or even rivets if need be. The textures can be mixed and matched, and I was doing this as the basic package, and making available many different textures and variations as a separate package. The things on the side of the helmet are metal flaps, similar to the Roman Legionnaire's helmet or Samurai helmet, both being an influence in the design. I left the spikes with a grey metallic look, instead of ivory appearance for this shot. The other thing that I've been planning is actual stains, "damaged" geometry, where the geometry would be actually altered. This was to be the $10 package, with the other parts about $5 if a person wanted more options. I've only submitted one other item before, so I understand if I've not promoted it well. But I wanted to see how it went without pouring everything into one package, which may have been a huge mistake.

I do not believe your limited sales interest has anything to do with how the product is being promoted. You just might want to take a look at what your competition is for products similar to this (and there are many...which does not help you)...what their prices are (even the freebies)...and what they offer in their packages. Then see what you can offer which is better, or at least makes your package distinctive enough for people to be interested in it. Right now it does not offer much to capture peoples interest...so you might want to take a close look at some of the comment made here.

I'd be more likely to consider buying it if the textures came with it, in lieu of having to purchase them separately. And promo images don't hurt either ... marketing, ya' know? :-)

I buy quite a bit of armor, I would pass on yours because the textures don't seem detailed enough for close-ups, and there are arm and leg pieces out there more detailed. I don't want to hurt your feelings but it is too simple and limited compared to other things on the market. I would give as an example the Ancient Armor by caleb68-- I bought it immediately even though I had something similiar because of the variety and extras. Emily

Well, thanks for the input. Like I said, I had mistakenly thought that doing a basic package to start might generate interest so that I would know if I should continue. That "burn out" thing after months of working on it got the best of me. I'll just have to try harder. Thanks
