Subject: Saving a prop for the forum

What is the best/most effective way for me to save/publish a prop on this forum. I have created a grouped prop with some custom textures. Thanks, Steve

WELL WELL WELL! Here's a question that I would LOVE to answer! hehehe. Well, the Forum itself doesn't allow you to upload anything. What you have to do is upload it to your own ftp account. If you have a ISP, then you should have one. If not, you can get one from Geocities, Angelfire, etc. Upload the Prop as a ZIP to this account. Then come to the Carrara free stuff section and click on upload. Then fill out the form. It'll ask you where the file is. Tell it (for example: http://www.geocities.com/ParkAvenue/1132/SweetProp.zip) Then you can upload a thumbnail of the prop as an incentive for us to download it. Hope that helps. If you have a question about the final packaging of the zip, I'd be happy to help, too. Good Luck, I can't wait to see it! Hoborg

Sorry for being vague. Yes I understand the FTP part and the hosting on my ISP... I was wondering what is the best packaging? Should I export as an OBJ? What is the recommended texture format? Any size considerations?... Thanks, Steve

Hrm. Mostly the ones up there (One or two) are in .car file. I don't think one prop with textures will be very big. Zip the .car though! Hoborg

Yea, You could just ZIP up the Carrara file if you like. Thanks! Clint
