Adobe had software called Adobe PHotodeluxe, not photoshop deluxe. They discontinued selling the software during version 4.0. Maybe the 4.0 version has a form of action commands, or maybe even version 3 depnding on how many options adobe was putting into the software at the time. just so ya know, you could prolly get a version of Photoshop 5.0 or 5.5 pretty cheap now off somewhere like ebay. You'll get a ton more features than photodeluxe most likely, and because photoshop is about to hit version 8, few people still want. Still, if yer willing to make due with an older version go for it. I know people who still swear by version 5.5...
I have Photoshop 7.0 and might up-grade to 8. need $$$$ asap lol. this was for a "friend" (old puter old programs absolute newbie to PS), to make converting 4 photo cds worth of large print quality scans into web friendly sizes. lets say with 400 pixels. I have advised that some cheap scanners have Photoshop elements... not sure of the vesion because I don't use it for obvious reasons.
Photoshop Elements is ok if you can do without certain things. I can't do without them.
Photoshop vs Elements
Advanced Web features (slicing, rollovers, etc.)
Professional-level printing (CMYK separations)
Healing Brush and Patch Tool
Channel editing
Improved precision
More flexible/masking
I guess Elements is ok for a newbie and a lot cheaper.
