OK. Here you go. Pick a movie that is currently playing in theaters now. Recreate a scene, character, object or craft, etc. Let's make this a triangle that way a challenge comes back to me. Xurge

lol. My older son made me take him to the movies last weekend and since this 3D addiction follows me everywhere, the moment I saw all the diferent movie posters my mind clicked. xurge

lol ,I took my daughter to see Stuart Little , But there are a few i'd like to see, Between work, kids softball practice's and games,(5 Kids, not all in sports currently)we have to make time to see movies and stuff ,but we rent ALOT of movies from blockbuster. Ironically,i'm doing about 30,000 square ft of Tile and carpet in a Brand new Movie Theater in Annapolis Maryland, Maybe they'll slide me some free passes, although it wont be open for months. Can be any movie? because i live in Mexico, and some movies get here even a year later from their original release... Or if u want, tell me what movies are out now, i can get some "backup" copies to see them...hehehe

Xurge ( ) posted Sat, 27 May 2000 at 11:18 AM

In your case Hell Dog, pick one of your favorite movies. And there is really no time limmit on this.

Hell^Dog ( ) posted Sat, 27 May 2000 at 7:18 PM

On the way!!!

Xurge ( ) posted Sat, 27 May 2000 at 7:56 PM

I made my choice. "Gladiator". I will recreate a fight scene with all armor and weapons and all. I will post a preview of one of the Helmets on a new thread. Rhino is coming very handy lately.

Hell^Dog ( ) posted Sun, 28 May 2000 at 12:56 AM

I really envy u!!!! All i can do is manipulate and edit the stuff i already have...

Xurge ( ) posted Sun, 28 May 2000 at 10:48 AM

Well, I'm just learning the stuff. I just got rhino 5 weeks ago and have read about 100 tutorials for it. Xurge

Hawkfyr ( ) posted Sun, 28 May 2000 at 10:52 AM

Rhino usees nurbs instaed of metaballs,is that correct? ive tried a demo of rhino but My modeling skills pretty much suck, wether it's one or the other . which do you think is easyer to grasp? I have Truspace but havnt had much luck, and the tutorial just plays through automatically, without any interation from me. I suppose after useing Bryce for everything, I find other interfaces counterintuitive. Hawkfyr

Roshigoth ( ) posted Sun, 28 May 2000 at 11:22 AM

I remember trying a rhino demo back in the betas, and I hated it. Then, after playing with other 3d programs, like Max and a couple others, I went back to Rhino and it quickly became my absolute favorite modeller. I tried Truespace 3 too, and I still hate that thing. Oh well. =) Rosh

Xurge ( ) posted Sun, 28 May 2000 at 12:11 PM

They have Max, Softimage and lightwave at my job, but they are just to complicated. Then a coworker handed me the Beta version of rhino and I was hooked. Bought the full version and I just love it. It is a nurbs system. It works flawlessly on W NT 4 and W 2000. And the processes involved to model are so easy to pick up you'll be moldeling in a week. Xurge

How much was Rhino? Will it run on Winblows 98? Hawkfyr

Roshigoth ( ) posted Sun, 28 May 2000 at 12:24 PM

Rhino student version (what I've got) costs $200. Dunno about normal version. It works great on Win98. Probably the only program I have that hasn't screwed up on it yet. =) Rosh

Xurge ( ) posted Sun, 28 May 2000 at 12:38 PM

The regular version is about $700. I also got the student price for $200. The license is the same as the full price as long as you are in school. You can produce and sell with no restrictions. Xurge
