THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Aramats, Portholes, and Star-tanions..;)

Been working with Bryce for awhile, and am running into problems with space shots..there's 2 things I'm stuck at. First is stars..with all the wonderful stuff Bryce does, the stars..are not what I expected. Is there a way to make the points smaller and brighter?
The other point is portholes..I've been experimenting with trying to make portholes for the ships, but just don't seem to find a good mat or technique for doing them. Did some experimenting there, but wonder if there are mats that
a) make good portholes (circular, rectangular, or beveled rectangular)
or
b) can be used as a good starfield?
I've tried Universe, but I think I'm running into a problem with them in that I probably need a square jpg to work with, but the jpgs come out in 'screen' aspect ratios (of course, I'll have to double-check that..;) Any suggestions? I'm all ears..

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

I usually leave the starfield as is (but at 50% brightness, and maximum stars). Usually, I like to mess with the colors in my pictures in another program, boosting the contrast and brightness very high to make weird, and bright colors. When doing this, though, stars get even MORE large and bright, which is why I make the brightness around 20 or so, so that they look normal. But I dont really think stars are so important in a space scene. Sure they're there, but I bet if you never showed them, people wouldnt notice strait off.

Have a look at Starbits, a similar program to Universe, but I like it better. A link to download it.
