To all you texturing folks, I wanted to ask what software and methods you use in creating your tattoos? I mean I understand how to use Photoshop to apply a tattoo image to an existin gskin texture, but you can't really create a tattoo in Photoshop. Any help or suggestions would be great!

Tribal tattoos are easy to make if you have Paint Shop Pro. Use the vector tool and create the shape you want then apply that layer to your texture. In photoshop use the pen tool and draw the tattoo you want use that layer or layers on your tattoo. I have a tablet so drawin is a bit easyer thatn with a mouse. If you ahve Adobe Illustrator it's ery easy to crete the vector shape and save it as a photoshop document, then again use that as a layer in either PSP, or photoshop. There are tons of Flash tattoo sites where you can get free tattoo images. these can just be used with PSP or photoshop resized and applyed to your textures. hope that helps some.

Thanks MachineClaw! The flash is a neat idea. Never knew about that. I'll have to see what I can learn about vectors in PSP as well.

I highly suggest getting MuRa's free "remove white" filter. Well, anyone's free "remove white" filter; I happen to use MuRa's. I think there's a link in the Photoshop forum. It will remove the white background on flash for you so you can apply it to your texturemap easily. Also, remember to respect flash copyrights as well. In a lot of cases you won't be able to redistribute the textures you make.

(P.S. The picture here [a WveryIP] is V3. If anyone's wondering how I got the seam matched up on her back, I'll be honest. I did it on a Vicky2 map and then used Dark Whispers V2-V3 texture converter. Only way I could figure to do it.)

That's gorgeous, FyreSpiryt! I tried adding a tattoo to Vicky's hip last night and it got a bit distorted over her hip bones when rendered. I guess I'll hav eto play around with it more.
