Just thought I'd post these images. Been something I've been working on as of late. Thanks, Dave

And here's another variation...

Ooooo la la.. :) Lovely

Wow! Make his face a little fuller, and give him chin length wavy hair and I'd swear he was someone I know. Great eyes!

Excellent! He looks like someone I've seen in the movies, uh, the adult ones. Definitly would look great with wavy hair and a treasure trail though... I keep hoping someone will do a smooth texture for Mike with a treasure trail.

Wow.... :) It's so nice to see a 'non-Mike-looking' Mike!

Thanks. Actually this is based off of someone. He's a news anchor for a website. And yes he does appear in what he's wearing right now LOL. I still dont have the hair color the way that I want it. Cant seem to match the news anchor's hair color. I've tried sampling from his pic in Photoshop and still cant get the right "color". Kind of thru this image together with one of my favorite poses (thanks, Greybro!). Hair is totally my creation. My first attempt at modeling hair. Dave

Well done! Perhaps he could use a smattering of body hair, but that's just a quibble. I've been using a bit of freeware called "Color Spy" to grab pixil-samples, but I'm shot if I can find the link. This may or may not be it: http://www.nattyware.com/pixie.html .

Yeah his hair color is a tough one to call. It sorta looks like dirty blond. When I try and sample it in photoshop I get a really muddy color. Person this is modeled after is one of these that likes to stay "smooth" except in the nether regions. Even there, there's not a whole lot of hair. Here's a pic of the person in question. Dave

His hair is not one color. Nobodys is. His is a combo of dark brown and light brown, and the extremes show up the highlites most. Great hair, wish we had some like it. A radical new trans for Yann hair might come close. Emily

I know it's not "one" color. But I cant seem to match even one of the many colors that appear here. The ones that I do manage to come up all seem so dark and gray with very little hint of any color at all. Very much not like the image that I posted here. Dave

The first thing that struck me about that photo is how assymetrical his face is .. the hairline lifts up a tad on the right, as does his eyebrow. Might be expression, might be the angle ..but it looks good :) For the hair ..sample a medium tone. Than make two layers..on one paint pure white for highlights, and use a heavy smudge to mush it aruond and make streaks. Set that layer to screen. Turn it off, and on the second layer do the same thing in black. Set that layer to multiply. Now turn both layers on and adjust the opacities until it looks about right. This way you can adjust the base colour without bothering the lights and darks. Hope that helps!

Lyrra, thank you for that tip :) I'm just learning to use Photoshop 6 and I'm collecting little techniques to try.

Cool technique, thank you--I would have just said lighten them.lol. By the way, it's not unusual to pick a color and find it's darker-- Drives me nuts. I'll go into the larger palette and lighten it usually cause it's how the eye sees it, not the computer. Emily
