Subject: managing libraries

Is there some system to organize my libtaries? There is so much stuff you can get lost in it. Temporarily I organize my libraries outside Poser. At the moment I just use V3, Michael Victoria and Stephanie with sublibraries for clothes, hair, etc...

Look for a program in the marketplace called "PBoost"...it should help greatly (I just got it a month ago...and dont know what i did without it)

If you have P5 then you can put the directories anywhere. I use the download file folder that installs with p5 - I copy this empty runtime to my 120g disk totally devoted to 3d and rename it to suit what I am installing... So far have Men, Kids, Women, House & Outdoors, Industrial & Vehicle, Toons and Animals and My creations. This really works if you use a local drive but I tried it on a lan 100mps and it was like slow death so bought another drive to dedicate to Carrera, Bryce and Poser. However, is real easy to find my stuff now and libraries load really fast! If you are using Poser 4 however, the only way to go is PBoost. I have it on my P4 installation on my old machine and wouldn't be able to find anything without it! Least not in the few years I have left ;-) Plan on taking a few days to get a really large library tamed and be sure to run cross reference program [in freebies] first. Good luck!

Thank you very much for this swift answer but anyway at my age (53) I'm just a novice so it is not that easy. I run Poser 5 and Pboost did not work. I think it's for NT and I use XP...I get error 4 could you explain please:" copying the download folder ( I know where it is)..to the hard drive..(where do you click?) before this I opened separate folders and with Daz they got installed allright... but I think your system is easier..(not english speaking so excuse the language.. Belgium this one) o.k. nice the reactions on this forum, creativity is what man keeps going...

I think pboost has an issue with XP / 2000 and NT systems if they are installed on FAT32 file systems, Im pretty sure I read that there is a update being developed to overcome this tho. If you do a search in the freestuff section here for 'pboost' you should find the compatibility tester, if you download and run this it will tell you wether pboost is currently compatable with your system. I think what cruzin is refering to is you can create a 'runtime' folder anywere on your PC (in his case on his second 120gig hard drive) and then within P5 you can add this as another runtime folder which P5 can access. Hope this all helps some Cheers Kurgen
