Hi all...I need some advice from you Brycer's. :) I have Poser and you all probably know I'm a RDS freak'o. I am thinking about picking up Bryce 4. I played with Bryce 3 for a few days. It seemed pretty good. I barrowed a copy to see if I liked it. No Fear, Has been deleted from my system ;) So, How do you all like Bryce 4? I assume it kicks rear. Especially from the images I have seen produced from it. Should I run and not walk to go get my copy of Bryce 4? Thanks for any and all input any of you might be able to provide. Best Regards, ClintH - Ray Dreamers Forum/Hawkin-Z GraF-X

OK, I know I'm too late to convince you to buy bryce, since you seem to have already decided to, but hey, I'll put in my two cents worth anyway (just to show what an annoying little git I am) Bryce was the first 3d modelling program that I could actually use, although as far as creating original shapes go, it's more pain than anything else. But some of the effects it can make, especially with water and skies....wow drools What I tend to do is imagine the picture I want, create the models etc. in other programs, make everything right in my mind, then export everything, and import it into bryce (too bad bryce can't import the textures/colours instead of you having to manually set them). Then I set the lighting, few touch up effects, and render. So bryce plays a very small role in my renderings, but it's one of the most important stages...I'll have to make a demo of a scene with/without bryce so you can see the difference (and yes, it is huge) Also, what surprises me, is if I have to create a texture for something, more often than not I'll start up bryce, create the texture with bryce's texture maker, then take a screenshot and copy/paste...I'd expect myself to be doing the reverse...oh well, best to make full use of the resources available 'eh? =)

SewerRat - Thanks for the reply. Yea, Im gonna get it along with RDS5.5 and Poser4. Man MC is after my hard earned cash. You know what - I do the same thing with RDS for creating texture maps to use. I will put a flat plane in RDS, scale to the size I need, apply a texture to the plane, adjust the camera so all it sees is the flat plane only, adjust the lights and render. I then save the rendered image as a TIFF file and use it for a texture to texture OBJ files with... :) Fun Stuff. My B-Day is July 18...My wife says she will get Bryce 4 as a present...OH I CANT WAIT! Thanks again for the reply to my message.
