Subject: Need advice

Not much help in the Bryce forum so I'll try here. I have $30 credit in the marketplace, no additional cash to add to sweeten the pot but not sure what to look for so... If YOU had $30 to spend in the marketplace what one product, or products, would you be sure to get?

hmmmm.....if you are looking for something for Bryce.....you are "definately" looking in the wrong forum.(: I would suggest, that you go to the "MP" type in "what-ever" you think you want........say.........buildings........rooms.........props.............what-EVER...........and then, Decide. Why not something from your store???

Claymor ( ) posted Fri, 18 April 2003 at 6:16 PM

Doesn't have to be for Bryce...could be for anything really...I use a lot of poser too

Look in your libraries. If you have a ton of V2 textures and no V3, then get the texture converter. If you have lots of stuff for Vicky, but nothing for Mike, check out some cloths or textures. Use the cash to fill in the gaps. We're always light on something. When you narrow it down, come back and we can give more specific recommendations.

*"Kendra

Why not something from your store??? "*

Do you mean why didn't I suggest something of mine? That would be considered advertising and I don't do that in this forum. Besides, I don't really have much. He asked what we'd get with that amount of credit and the texture converter is what I've been saving up for. :)

I could do a lot of damage with $30 :-) reduce my wish list by a few files

Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.

"If YOU had $30 to spend in the marketplace what one product, or products, would you be sure to get?" If it were me, I'd go browse thru TransPond Sets and Ironhart buildings to see if there were any I didn't have yet, perhaps a Richardbri or Enyoka1 set.

While I'm flattered that you would use (more) money on my sets, I better make a small correction ;o) It's ernyoka1, not Enyoka1 ;o) Just so that any searches wouldn't be in vain hehe... (and remember my April Offer.....)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Hi Kendra. I don't think it's advertising "when" they asked what they should buy and you offer suggestions. I took it upon myself to "see" what you had to offer (store) and had favorable reviews. I don't think it's wrong to offer suggestions... ultimately it up to the buyer. I haven't even gotten to the converter yet.... I still have tons of models waiting 2b installed. :)

First, I wouldn't spend it all. As soon as you do that, somebody will put a must-have item in the Marketplace at a special sale price. Second, I'd look for something which would allow YOU to be more creative. If there was a dress that you'd been dieing to texture, buy the dress. The pleasure you get from making something beautiful adds to the pleasure of the new item. If there is a building which need furniture, or your landscape needs a focal point (crumbling castle in the distance), or a rocking chair looks like your grandmother's or something inspires you to make a setting and image for it... then THAT is the purchase to make. In a world where we are buffeted by news of destruction, creating and making and building things with good emotional overtones offers us artists some respite. Third, consider pdxjims' advice. I have hair models which haven't been unzipped yet, so probably won't buy another hair model for a while. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of clothing in my Mike folder, but shocked by the emptiness in Stephanie's. We probably all have areas where we over-indulge (the only reason that I don't have every castle and dragon figure out there is a shortage of cash), but my mermaids are next-best to homeless. Eyeball your folders and see if there is a conspicuous gap... and then determine if it is due to lack of interest (example: I think the best use of a cannon is to make puffed wheat, Jim Burton thinks it is a dandy prop for ladies to bend over) or to lack of opportunity (some cultures are still sadly neglected... seen anything from Timbuktu lately?). Last, look for good value. I don't consider mere color variations to be additional textures, and 76 MAT files are an abomination when 40 of them are for eye makeup. PhilC's collections of Romantics and V3 undies and such offer lots and lots and lots of nice pieces individually modeled. Judith and Chrisjol's "Transpond" collaborations are stuffed full of goodies and usually have extra freebies as go-withs. Something like the Necropolis by Andix had a dozen free add-ons last Christmas, which you can still find on his site. Have you considered Natalia? There are textures and clothes for her and the figure has many very special morphs for creating someone you can not get with Vicky... even Vicky 3 doesn't have head ridges. ;^) She is also very, very pretty out of the box. Above all, if this purchase isn't something needed for a job, then find something which will make you feel good about it. Carolly
