When you want to put clothes on any figure, use the DOUBLE checkmark at the bottom instead of doubleCLICKING on the clothes :o) Very common mistake.

Victoria is sold by Daz3D It has renctly been seen for free on some 3D magazines' cover CD's but I think that's the low rez version.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Victoria 1 is available on the coverdisk of the latest Computer Arts magazine. Not the low res version, either - the standard version. sigh We're gonna be flooded with lots of questions about the eyebrows now. Gee, thanks, Computer Arts. ;)

Actually, it's the Reduced Resolution version of Victoria 1, as well as the Slick Mod hair.

Victoria is a commercial product. You have to buy it. A special version is available on the CD that comes with the magazines mentioned above. Victoria cannot be legally downloaded for free online. Requesting commercial products for free is considered wartez and not permitted here. Hope this clears up your confusion.

RHaseltine ( ) posted Sun, 20 April 2003 at 12:44 PM

You have a link in ernyoka's post - but it costs money. If you don't have a credit card try emailing DAZ and they should be able to sort out an alternative payment method. Otherwise it's track down a copy of ComputerArts, or 3D World magazine, for the LoRes version.

"Requesting commercial products for free is considered wartez and not permitted here." I misspelled a word. "wartez" is actually spelled "warez" Ooops.

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Mon, 21 April 2003 at 4:36 AM

Actually I explained to you how you can put clothes on the body in post #2 :o) After you have got the clothes in, you go to Figure menu -> conform. Make sure the clothing is selected (it is by default when you bring it in) then conform it to the character figure. Hope that helps :o)

Also SnowSultan has made some VERY nice beginner tutorials, here and here

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Mon, 21 April 2003 at 6:57 AM

Vicky is only free if you can track down a copy of that computer magazine. Don't know how hard it would be in Romania though. Else I'm afraid the only legal way to obtain Vickie is at Daz3d, at the link in my first post :o)

ernyoka1 i didnt found vicky character on daz3d, i have user , pass for free stuff on daz3d site but ... i dont see vickis charcater, just stuff like textures, props and more... ok lets try somethin` else: who has cd magazine with vicki character plz tell me see later

JohnRender ( ) posted Mon, 21 April 2003 at 9:39 AM

ernyoka1- I wouldn't bother any more. You posted a link to DAZ twice, mentioned that Vicky is a FOR-SALE item twice, and the guy still won't listen. Jimmy_X: Listen up! Vicky, Vicky 2, and Vicky 3 are FOR SALE items at DAZ. Go to the DAZ website (that's a hyper-link, by the way: click on it to go to the DAZ site), then click on "Search", type in "Vicky" and the list of Vicky products will be listed. Even if someone had the 3D World CD, they couldn't send it to you- redistribution of Vicky (even the versions for free on a magazine CD) are not allowed by DAZ. However, you may want to check your local bookstores... though, that would require that you purchase the magazine. If you ask about how to get Vicky for free, that will be considered a "warez request" by the admins and you will quickly be banned. To conform clothes, just read the manual. I'm not even going to ask if you have a printed version or not, but the instructions are also in the online version (go to Help menu, then Online Manual).

Jimmy_X ( ) posted Tue, 22 April 2003 at 5:17 AM

i downloaded from here (free stuff category)a pack of eyes textures (example: Michael Eyes (a white page with 2 eye globes in right upper corner..textures) & Eyes textures for Poser5 figures (white page with big eye globe in center and a little black dot in right down corner) ) uffff i dont understand exactly what i gotta do... the links are ok leather-guy , but i trying to findout what can i put an texture eye on an charecter eye , and why is to tipe of textures of eyes ? ( Michael Eyes & Eyes textures for Poser5) thanks for help ,i sorry again for my milion of questions, but im a beginer and i discover this super poser 5 ,i like it very very much and i want to work with this to the end (perfection :P ) poser 5 rulez !!!

RHaseltine ( ) posted Tue, 22 April 2003 at 6:44 AM

The texture is flat, the models are solid. Poser (and other 3D applications) need something to tell them where on the flat, square texture to get the decoration for each piece of the model. This is done using "uv-mapping" - this point on the model matches this bit of the map. Just about every model has a unique uv-mapping (because they have different parts, or proportions, or because last time it didn't work well so let's try this...)and so the texture are usually usable only with one figure - Michael, Don (the P5 man), various replacemnt eyes etc. The eye texture is just a small part of the whole figure's map, so if that's all it contains there will be lots of white (V3 actually has a seperate map for the eyes, which saves space).

JohnRender ( ) posted Tue, 22 April 2003 at 7:57 AM

I know it's been a while since I used Poser 5, but isn't there a section in the manual on how to apply textures and how to use the Materials Room?

Jimmy_X ( ) posted Tue, 22 April 2003 at 9:19 AM

RHaseltine you make some light with your explantion thank you very much and you JohnRender : i search on internet for complete tutorials about poser 5 and i dont found anything...but i keep searchin example for RHaseltine : on poser 5`s cd 2 are 2 complete textures (body, eyes, head)for poser 5 female character (blue and green colors).I have managed to put the body texture and head texture (blue) on the poser 5 female character , head skin in "face room"category, and body texture in "material room" image map ,but eyes are the some ...not changed . ok secand: green texture (body, head)apears ,on the poser 5 female character, not corectly positioned but works please help me thanks

RHaseltine ( ) posted Tue, 22 April 2003 at 10:10 AM

I have Poser 4 only, but I think you change textures in the Material room - Face room is for other things. Select the material you want to change (for example SkinHead, SkinBody etc. for Victoria) and apply the texture you want for that material. Appearing but in the wrong place sounds like it may be a texture for another figure.
